Who said he was? Were you there?

And its what they did anyway back then, senseless stuff such as Tyson starving himself to lose 20+lbs for the Douglas fight with no weight limit

You, dummy. All throughout this thread.

So he did that for every single fight of his career, even when he was fighting just 3 days apart?

Well there's hardly any sensible argument that Gman could beat Hagler anyway.

The only argument you can make is McClellan’s size and people tend to cling to one advantage during fantasy matchups

You won't find any top shelf posters clinging to that tho. It's a small point at best.

Oh man, now I have an itch to make an argument for McClellan!

    Wait ...

    Nevermind, it's passed.

It doesn't make sense. We've been through why it doesn't make sense a lot on this thread.

I'd be interested if you have information on the times of the weigh ins for Hagler's career and for McClellan's career, not that it would say much about their actual weight, but it's interesting information to have.

    McClellan v Gordon , McClellan's 5th pro fight ....

    This content is protected

One of the commentators even remarks on how Gordon is "an awfully big middleweight".
    The fight is November 1988.

So, I'm supposed to believe McClellan is fighting his early pro fights with "day before weigh ins", Ok .... and weighing 160 on the scales, but actually weighing over 175 in the ring  ..... and the commentator remarks that the other guy, a journeyman fighter, is "awfully big".

I guess John Gordon was an all time weight cutter too.
