Does anybody know what types of training g man did? I mean how he got that wedge look, big lats slim waist?
I'm playing. But anyways, I've heard a coach say that the wide lats/ v-haped back doesn't benefit boxers cause it makes it harder to keep the elbows and arms against the body. He said he was not a proponent of doing very wide grip pull-ups for this reason.
He did his own thing for a few hours post-Steward. Under Steward it was the standard routine that Tommy and Andries did: 6am - beach running 2pm - 15mins shadow boxing, 15mins bag work, 6-8 4min rounds of sparring with 2-3 diff sparring partners and 30sec rest between rounds, and then calisthenics (skipping, push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups)
Where did you find this information because I can't seem to find any info of g mans's training anywere on the internet? But thanks a lot appreciate it man
No periodisation? Sounds very vague... Don't buy it. Also four min rounds with 40 seconds rest will likely have a detrimental effect on your boxing
Tbh i reckon Steward, like alot of the top boxing coaches, is no expert on sport science or conditioning. Fighters are usually better off employing a separate strength and conditioning coach and leaving the boxing sessions to their actual boxing trainers. Roach has this set up in the wild card, now that i think of it.
