There has to be more to this story. He was 3-0 with two Knockout of the Night awards before losing. Positive drug test maybe? http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/Harris-Released-After-UFC-123-Defeat-28363
Lets keep Tito who hasn't won a fight worth a DAM in years, but kick this guy out. Well it's about the money and FOOL'S will keep paying too see Tito.
Also keep in mind that they now have WAY fewer spots with all of the WEC guys coming in and Harris was just on the losing end of a lousy fight where he got owned by a newcomer and he fought very oddly/non-aggressively. They have to keep the other guy because he won, but not so for Harris. Still, I suspect you guys are probably right and there's something more than that.
mmmm. dont know about this one, the dude k.o all his first 3 opponents and the had a one not so good fight. he has had 4 fights in the ufc this year, and most guys only have 2 or 3. if he has done something wrong and thats why he has been kicked out, then fair enough. but if it was because of one loss to a good guy, then thats shitty.
They're not letting Tito go because he's a big name. Fighters can have better job security providing they make a name. That said, strange release.
The UFC's a popularity contest. Look at how much Tito got paid for his last bout and then compare that with what Carwin made for the "biggest fight in UFC history". Anyway i wasnt happy with Harris's peformance. **** knows what he was playing at. But to get released seems a bit harsh. But hey the UFC can get away with it. Theres no one to challenge them. Hopefully Harris ups his game and ends up in SF.
very stupid move by the ufc in my opinion, lets just hope harris gets a contract with another bigger orginazation and put together another win streak.i always enjoyed watching him fight
Dana too stubborn to do the work to get a rule change. Instead he takes the boring nature out on some fighters. Sucks, these are guys with tons of potential that just need time to develop as professionals. I thought throwing him in against a Chute Boxe guy was kind of dumb. If he wanted a cracking fight, all he needed to do was bring in a Brazilian Top Team banger to match against him Falcao. Bring in rivalries and up and coming fighters to keep those rivalries hot and burning, top it off it keeps the fights entertaining.
Clearly the UFC sending a message that a performance like that in the 3rd round when you know you need a finish isnt acceptable.
i saw this coming he pussied out and ran thewhole fight, i knew this wouldnt go down with dana, sometimes i think dana just looks for guys who come to fight even though they lose most of the time (guida) compared to a guy who has more ability but survived instead of getting koed had he of tried to force his own stoppage
