I have to agree with Brown Bomber here.

I loved Nigel Benn, and gave him all the credit in the world.

But I watched the documentary, and there was clearly something wrong with Gerald. And it wasn't psychological because he'd met his match.

He was clearly distressed, blinking and gasping for air etc.

The only thing he had wrong with him is that he had Big Bad Benn standing in front of him, Benn was a devastating puncher just like G-Man was, plus Benn was far more proven, other than a shopworn Jackson and a washed up Mugabi who had McClellan beaten ? Both had two losses, Benn to Watson and Eubank, two great fighters, McClellan to two guys you couldn't name unless you did a boxrec search.

Benn beats McClellan every day of the week.

GMan was a bad mofo . I rate him second only to prime Mike Tyson as the most intimidating, aggressive, and brutal fighter to step in the ring. He was NOT to be f#cked with and enjoyed hurting his opponent.

Would have beaten most of the MW of today.

Gman was one of the best, most devastating finishers I've ever seen, almost Joe Louis-like. But yea, you have to give credit to Benn, tho a big puncher himself, he was getting outgunned and outclassed, it seemed there was absolutely no way he was going to beat Gman. But you knew when he went thru those ropes and decided to get back in the fight he was one titanium balls mother****ur or one really stupid tit. Benn had heart and that was enough to humble the seemingly invincible Gman. He was in love with his power too much, but one of the few exceptions you can give a pass cuz his power was legit, easily light heavyweight power. But he didn't have respect for Benns power and that was his downfall.

I think you need to watch the documentary.

    He was in obvious distress.

Again, the blinking, the gasping for air etc.

It was clear to everyone that something was amiss.

I think he's a bit overrated. Look what benn did to barkley and tell me who the real puncher is.
