Based on the fact that we don't know Fitz weights for heavyweight fights and most people speculate that he was above 170 lbs during that time.

So I can't tell how good Fitz was because I haven't seen enough of him, but you can call Sharkey "face-first wharfbrawler who possessed little science and none of the grooming of McClellan" even though you haven't seen ANYTHING from his fights?

Jeffries jokes in his dressing room, if FItz give his weight at 169, put me down for 144. You are correct.

Address the issue not the issuer. Ad hominem is low rent even for this board.

I just read over a dozen reports of the second fight and have read Pollack's book on Jeffries. What am I missing>?

I believe its 15 rounds,Jeffries never went more than 25.
I'd like to repeat that Jeffries average weight in his major title fights
    Sharkey
    Ruhlin
    Corbett 1&2
    Fitz1&2
    was 213lbs .
And he was 6 feet tall.

He couldn't give Fitzsimmons much of one in two tries.

A couple of rounds of an ancient Fitz v Lang, and a blurry couple of fragments of him and Corbett which has been spliced together.
    ANYTHING ELSE?
Have you for example, seen him against Jeffries and Johnson ,as Rhas Al Guhl claims to have done?

If you have read Pollacks book, then you will know that Jeffries had a pre existing arm injury before the second fight, and took the fight anyway.

Hardly a gauge of how a fully fit Jeffries would perform.

You will also know that he first fight was a much more tame affair, with Sharkey largely spoiling to survive.

Which historians have been willing to proffer a figure?
Fitz was weighed on a steel scale the morning of the Corbett fight he was 157lbs.
He may well have fluctuated below that and above it,but speculation is not fact.
