I know Pavlik is looking for a gimme but fighting a blind man in a wheelchair is nearly as bad as Ricky Hattons next fight. Or are we talking primes

McCellan early 1-3 rounds would be my pick but if he doesnt get him out early Pavlik may rally late and score a late KO. McCellans 12round fighting ability was only really tested against Benn and he didnt do too well BUT Benns better than Pavlik and McCellan may have taken scares into battle.

Either that or McCellan was weight drained. McCellan would vastly benefit from 48 hour weigh ins.

Pavlik by late stoppage. McClellan always looked to score knockouts in the early rounds because he knew that he would fade late because of killing himself to make weight. I see Pavlik as being too good as boxer and would wear him down and stop him late. Gerald had a great chin but fatigue and Pavlik's flush right hands would get him out. He also didn't have the best defence in the world either.

Pavlik has already shown that he can take a good punch by taking flush shots from 2 of the hardest punchers of todays middleweights and only hurt when fooling around. Gerald has nothing more than a puncher chance in this fight and if he couldn't get Pavlik out early, then he would be knocked out late.

    Pavlik TKO 11

    i dont think so

mcclellan is a class above and would stop pavlik, this is not miranda we are talking about. mcclellan is very underated, forget the benn fight were he phisically wasnt right a peak g-man would have been a an ATG and stopped kelly in a classic matchup

GMAN did have speed, athleticism, combinations and timing and movement that would bother Pavlik. If Taylor can hurt Pavlik multiple times imagine what Gman would do when he landed

McClellan early knockout he has almost everything over Pavlik who has never come against a fight at McClellan level.

Taylor only hurt Pavlik when Pavlik dropped his hands. Other than that, Pavlik was able to take his shots well. Miranda also caught Pavlik with flush shots and he didn't flinch.

Also, Gerald had decent movement but he wasn't a good pure boxer at all and he lacked defence. Julian Jackson is not know as a good boxer either and he managed to out boxed Gerald when he choose to. Pavlik would definately win the fight in the center of the ring as he is the much better pure boxer and his defence is underrated. I see Pavlik's chin, body shots and constant pressure as being being too much for Gerald in the later rounds.

People tend to overrate him like you are doing. Honestly, Jermain Taylor is on a different level than Gerald because he has beaten the better line of fighters and was the recognized middleweight champion. He is also better techincally polished and the all around complete fighter. Against the good pure boxers, Gerald would have nothing more than a punchers chance.

Saying he's "beaten" them doesn't exactly tell the entire story.

When has Pavlik ever been described as a pure boxer his defence is wide open and against a guy who hits harder and has better combinations like McClellan that would be dangerous. I know the guy can be outboxed but going toe to toe with him is very different only Benn managed it and I don't feel Pavlik can put up a performance like that.

Benn was knocked down twice in the hardest fight of his career when McClellan was damned near dead.

Why not just change your name to "Mr. Wrong" or something more clever that describes you just as well? You always have some unorthodox, ridiculous opinion to give.

I'd much rather see Pavlik in with a fired up Benn, that would be a fight, for all the people who like to say Mcclellan wasnt right that night or whatever, Benn was a true warrior that night and im not sure Pavlik could deal with that kind of heart and ferocity, it was tragic what happened to Gerald that night in 1995 but Benn's performance was super human after being out cold in round 1, true street fighting heart that you rarely see, but it is uncomfortable to praise Benn' s performance knowing the outcome for Mcclellan

Who has Gerald beaten that was a top elite middleweight? Even if the tragedy in the Benn fight didn't occur, he was still damaged from the Jackson fights and was getting even more damaged from massive weight drain. It was just a matter of time.

Besides, you are the one that favored Tyson to blast out Ali and Foreman...lol Which is just comical for the simple fact that he has never even beat an elite fighter that was in their prime nor showed heart in a big fight. and he beats one of the toughest/greatest heavyweights in history? Please, hes not in their league and you are blinded by the hype.
