Gone with McCallum but who has McCallum fought that is most similar to GMAN? Not that anyone is because GMAN was a MW Tyson, Gerald is a dangerman in this 1

Agreed. The Bodysnatcher's just too good.

I think this fight may of been very similar to the McCallum/Jackson fight, I see The Bodysnatcher taking out the limited McClellan early.

    McCallum KO3

Julian Jackson was an even bigger puncher and McCallum had little trouble winning that one.

At middleweight I would say McClellan was a bigger puncher than Jackson, with an edge in skills and speed. McCallum could be hit and I think McClellan would have just enough to make him stay hit. I think McClellan could take this with a KO, but I wouldn't bet the house.

I don't know man, Julian rocked him pretty good in the first.

McClellan would not get knocked out however. It took ten rounds from a hard puncher in Nigel Benn, with a bleeding brain, before he decided to quit. Even then, he wasn't knocked out, he couldn't continue due to a serious brain injury and took the count. I don't know if many, if any, can stop the G-Man.

McClellan had a granite chin but I don't think he ever had good stamina. I simply can't see anybody taking out McCallum inside three rounds, his chin was as tested as anyone's and he had solid defensive skills.

McCallum would take the fight to McClellan in the later rounds and win, probably not by a stoppage although it's possible because as good a chin as McClellan had, he never took body punishment for 12 rounds from someone like McCallum.

He never went 12 rounds, period. The only time he went past 8 was the Benn fight.

i think after a very close 5 rounds. mike gets into his stride, uses his jab to outbox a very rangy determined but tired g-man.
by the 8th or 10th mcclellan falls apart and gets stopped by the ref or his corner.

But Benn at 168 was not a particularly hard puncher, look at his record at 168:

Of his fights from Milo onwards, when he moved up (following Watson and Eubank) he went 13-3-1 but with only 8 stoppages compared with his 27 stoppages from his 29 wins at Middleweight.

Of them eight stoppages only Galvano (cut) and McClellan were stoppage wins over genuine top 10 fighters...

First of all, McCallum's chin is as proven as anyone. Prime Jackson at 154, more of a bulldozer than the shot-picking assassin he became at 160/168 IMO. he does hurt The Body Snatcher early on but McCallum takes it. At that point Jackson was a devestating puncher and full on confidence (undefeated)

Also, he had a very tight defence and variety in offence. G-Man isn't in his league, he has a punchers chance and THAT IS IT. Oh, no, he doesn't.

McCallum by Wide UD after losing the first three rounds to a surging and dangerous G-Man. He wins the resulting nine. G-Man's great chin allows him to take a vicious beating to the body and chin.

mccallum is more skilled but mcclellan can give him problems, jackson rocked him so mcclellan can do the same. but overall mccallum was more balanced. neitehr man gets koed.
