this was a potential matchup a lot of people were looking forward to back in '95, before the benn-mcclellan tradegy. G-man, to a lot of people was some one who could have been one of the toughest tests possible for rjj at smw. G-man was a devastating legitimate one punch KO artist back in MW, and rjj was himself had awesome power at SMW. a KO would have been guarateed if this fight ever took place. imo RJJ speed would be the deciding factor making him the favorite, but a single clean punch from either guy could put the other one out. who wins?

I was such a G-Man fan, he was badass as you get. Roy's chin would have been just as fragile as it is now, he just got old thats all.

But Roy at 168, at that time, about as close to unbeatable as you can get.

G-man was definitely a badass in the ring, very sad that a talent like him was taken away from boxing before he could have given us more. i dont like rjj the fighter and his boasts/claims. but i have a lot of respect for rjj the person for helping G-man out at his current state.

this has been a matchup in my head that really is difficult to pick a winner for cause both guys could easily take the other out. not to mention both had unorthodox styles that it would be a difficult to pick a winner based on that factor. i forgot to put draw in the poll, but i don't see the fight ever going there.

And a bit of hard man outside aswell from reports. Seem to like his dogfighting.

some people attribute his current state to karma, because of that fact.

Jones and Toney IMO are the top 2 best fighters at 168 around mid 90s IMO. The way Jones dominated Toney ameks me think that he is simply head and shoulders above the rest.

Very dangerous fight for Roy, but he knew when to fight cautiously, and he outboxes G-Man for a clear decision.
