McClellan can be outboxed... I believe he dropped a few fights back to back early in his career. Though I suppose you can argue he became another animal entirely and wasn't the fighter he would later become.

Anyway, Canelo is going to be dwarfed in the ring. Alvarez is defensively slick and competent so I have no doubt he could hang in there, there would be no blowouts here. But man, Alvarez would really be outgunned, size and power wise.

I like canelo and always knew the GGG fight would be close but McClellan obliterates him. Much more dangerous puncher than Golovkin, faster, rangier(big factor with canelos slow feet) and genuinly vicious man who will try to take your head off from the opening bell. Canelo can not afford to rest against McClellan. McClellan was killer, not boxer. Pun intended.

Good post. I think Canelo's underrated around here but McClellan is all wrong for him.

McClellan in his prime, probably TKO's the Canelo that we have seen to date.

Destruction by the G man... I can't even envision a way Canelo wins this fight

Alvarez punches harder than Benn did at super middle when he fought Gerald, Benn had more knock outs at middle, Canelo is also harder to hit than Benn and Gerald missed a lot as Benn got underneath his shots, also Canelo rode GGG`s punches well taking the power out, I feel Saul`s chin would stand up well against Gerald and he`s a much better counter puncher, g-man had no defense.

Canelo would have beaten Benn easily, Nigel was no GGG.

The jab was important factor in the GGG fight, his jab was far better than McClellan`s who didn`t use it enough vs Jackson and Benn, GGG`s defense is far better than Gerald`s also.

Canelo is all wrong for Gerald. I'd say he stops him late or wide UD

Even if Gerald won a decision it wouldn`t be wide because he would be getting caught so much , his defense was much poorer than Canelo`s and every time he punched he would be caught with a counter.

I think McClellan probably hands him a clean knockout. Not because Canelo is completely outclassed. Just because, that's the way it goes sometimes. Big man, big puncher. Job done.
