i just watched a few of his fights and can honestly say he was a very fluid boxer. nice stance and very crisp clean punching. if he would have avoided his fate that night with Benn i believe he would have been something great. Whats everyones thoughts on how far he would have went if he was healthy?

He wouldn't have fared much better health wise after Benn. The problems were deep rooted beforehand.

Severe headaches after the Jackson fight.

It's really no coincidence that this happened immediately after a war with maybe the hardest P4P puncher of all time, faded version who had been fighting for a decade or not.

Funny considering Jackson was a natural 154lber and McClellan was literally a sawed off LHW if not slightly larger.

Julian Jackson said shortly after their fight, McLellan was complaining about headaches. McLellan himself said he had a massive head ache but was going to sleep a few days and hope it went away. Emmanuel Steward said G-Man was losing track of simple things like time and conversations and was wondering about him.

It was a snowball effect that all culminated against Nigel Benn. Make no mistake however that even if McLellan beats Benn that night, it STILL would've happened eventually.

Julian Jackson was a beast. You wanna see some exciting action watch some of his fights. The man was a true KO artist.

He just fought too many hard punchers and also weight drained himself too much... Manny Steward said that sometimes Gman would come into the ring at 180 ( remember he mostly fought at 160) on fight night, re-hydrating 20 lbs ... that can have a very ill effect on punch resistance , the fluid between the brain and skull was lessoned and possibly one of the main reasons a blood clot formed.

other than all this... the guy was a future star, he was a monster who knocked out everyone in the first two rounds. Very exciting to watch and definitely would have done some great things if it weren't for the injury.

McClellan ran down some flamingos in a parking lot for fun one time, didn't he?

    No...he wouldn't of.

Those things don't just go away. It would've come up sooner or later because brain problems aren't just here and there. You don't have headaches for three straight weeks on end (a rough estimate) and then be fine afterwards. He would've gotten seriously damaged at some point.

Apparently so. He was best described by a close friend as a guy who "just liked to kill things."

I have never liked him because of that.... fueled greatly by my love of pitbulls and other dogs.

brilliant brilliant amateur and pro fighter, took too many hard knocks, wouldnt listen to sense, horrible garbage of a person however, some people wish on him worse things that he has now, personally i dont but there are plenty of people outside the world of boxing that do.

I agree that entered the ring with an existing problem and I am sure Benn's megaton punches did not help things. Any fighter who takes on both Jackson and Benn in their career is bound to develop some long term problem.
