Don't forget that Benn was out on his feet at one point during this fight. How he survived is beyond me.:bbb

Not that hard to survive with a referee like that.

But still, Benn had good bob and weave skills, and McClellan wasn't exactly a pin-point puncher. Ref did have a lot to do with it, though.

McClellan was a very sad story... the ref would have stop round 1 if it was fought today.

He was a good fighter, how good he would have been is unknown.

He gets overrated due to the potential of what he might've been, as a lot of fighters tend to get.

Roy Jones jr vs McLellan...Roy by UD!!! but that's a fight I would've loved to see. I remember that McClellan did beat Roy in the amateurs though.

G man was a beast. As peeps here have already stated it's hard to say because it's really only potential people can go on. For the fights he did have though, he was a force to be reckoned with, he did eat a lot of shots however, which is baaaaad.:deal

I give credit to Benn for his amazing comeback after that round... most fighters would have gave up! but after what hapoen to McClellan i wish he should have stayed down... :-(

Wasn't the damage to Mcllelan intially due to headbutt (and later gotten worse due to punches)?Just asking, haven't seen that fight in a long time.

there was what looked like a possible headbutt late in the fight when benn tripped after throwing a punch, but on closer inspection it looks like no more than one of benn's dreadlocks grazing the g-mans face.

It's only Brits that make these statements.

Ref had **** all to do with it, the rules are 20 seconds if you get knocked out of the ring, Benn got back and beat the mother ****er, end of story ,

although i hate McClellan for his nasty sadistic dog fighting past, he was a great fighter, and is a shame what happened to him,
