Calzaghe had an iron chin, he could fight through adversity as well, even if G-Man brought heavy pressure early on, I think Joe would have survived. Then he would have outboxed Mcclellan for sure. Calzaghe had a fantastic ability to adapt to his opponent, his work rate and skills would have seen him win a UD.
The man shipped some very powerful punches in his career and was hardly rocked. Never stopped, at worst suffered a few flash KD's and recovered quickly to win each fight. How was his chin pitiful?
We are talking about g man the guy on his first day in the kronks gym romour has it he outboxed sugar ray. So I think he would have tamed joe if he never got the ko
easy JC, when he wanted to box he didn't get hit with that right hand - untill later on his career, All the ******s keep bringing up the right hand vs JC, He was a excellent boxer when he fought behind he right shoulder, Dont reply by bringing up his KD because he was brawling and JC had high enough ring IQ not to do that vs GMan JC - UD 117-111 --> turn out like the kessler fight
LMAO Joe would only take that fight after G-man was in a wheelchair. You guys can get your panties in a bunch for Joe all you want but the fact remains he never took on top competition and would never enter the ring with a prime G-man. Through out his career he never showed that type of drive to be great.
Gman by early KO (45%) or Cal by late decision (55%). I dont think there would be any other outcome likely. G could never outskill Cal, and Cal cant hurt Gman with his pitterpatter. Obviously in reality Cal wouldnt take a risky fight, as is evidenced by his entire career, but I think the General (as we Brits called him when he was about to face Benn) would be game for it. Cal gets the slight edge because he has a good chin, less chance of him getting knocked out at SM. Benn would batter them both though, well he did one of them, ugly stuff.
