Had he actually taken training seriously and stayed in shape, could he have achieved more in his career, or had he already reached his ceiling? Also, does an in shape young Nobles have any success if he were to have fought in today's era?

Nobles was nothing special. Fought the usual cannon fodder and had no legitimate wins over elite competition. Didn't have the dedication to stay in proper shape. Honestly, I can't believe there is a thread about him. He is of amost no historical significance.

I think he was doing well (very agressive and winning some rounds) against Valuev, but he was robbed like others.
He could be a top 10, top 15 today

Agreed. I think he could have done ok for himself in today's heavyweight landscape.

I've wondered what he could have done against someone like Monte or Mesi.

How come we don't see more heavyweights out of Philly?

Best win is Sedrick Fields. I think I watched one of his fights once and was badly disappointed when I found out who the guy was with the undefeated record.

I think Harris was a much better fighter then Fields.

Harris proved he was better. I think Andre Purlette was better than Nobles if we’re going for undefeated records without substance from the early 2000s.

I used to wonder about Purlette and that weird record of his back in the day. Who was that big heavyweight that almost got to 40-0 not too long ago? Lost to a complete nobody after padding his record for like 10+ year too.

If memory serves it was a guy named Faruq Saleem.

Yeah, I seem to remember the mob fixing one of his fights too.

That Salita Promotions channel seem great for those obscure HWs from the 90s and 00s. I love that channel.

I think it’s Saleem, but Cedric Boswell also deserves mention.
