Definitely sounds like the moral victory goes to Mansour on this one - Washington sounds somewhat exposed.

    His heavyweight stable is pathetic.

Spot on but I would say very exposed.

Washington looked solid the first few rounds IMO but faded really quickly halfway through and Amir brought it on. Washington looked mentally and physically defeated at that point.

    Washington
    Breazele
    Arreolla
    Tarver
    Cunningham

Were all very disappointing in their last match.
As has Haymon's belt holder Wilder.
    A very poor stable.

So the Elbiale fight was sloppy (color me shocked ) and the heavies fought to a constipated draw with no drama past the mid rounds (Washington gassing and Mansour bringing ineffective aggression)?

Sounds like I didn't miss anything too special.

Washington kept Mansour at the end of his jab and Mansour couldn't figure out a way to get past it, but he finally did by round 5 and from that point on Mansour brought the effective aggression pounding away at El Gallo Negro's body completely exhausting him all the while Washington was on his bicycle trying to survive, had he not been just elusive and tall enough to evade Mansour's left hooks to the head he'd would have most likely been KO'd. Mansour won 6-4 and the audience scoring along at home score it 6-4 as well, they were in Washington's backyard so Adalaide Byrd the b**** scored it 7-3 for Gerald.

I missed this. A lot of people didn't like the decision it seems. I guess my original theory had some merit to it. I'll check the fight later. But it seems that Adelaide Byrd (97-93 for Washington) card was decisive. That's the same woman who scored Broner vs Porter 114-112, a fight Broner won a total of 1 round. She shouldn't be allowed to judge anymore if she's actually too far off with this fight as well. I'll evaluate that again after actually watching the fight.

I'm sick of these boring fights...

    everybody fighting to survive...

one 'draw' fight after another in the heavys...

I checked the fight. It doesn't look like a robbery but if anyone won 6 rounds it's Mansour. I'd have scored it 96-94 for Mansour in the RBR. Seeing how the fight played out, I think Mansour by MD would be the most expected outcome.

Adelaide Byrd was too far off giving 7 rounds to Washington. She gives Broner 4 rounds vs Porter, 7 rounds to Gerald vs Mansour. It's just ridiculous. She shouldn't be judging fights of this caliber anymore.

That said, Mansour should've started off better, and knock down Washington to seal the deal. Fighting an undefeated Haymon fighter, he could've lost this fight if he wasn't somewhat of a name himself; he could easily get Kassi vs Breazeale treatment.

Not a bad heavyweight fight. I scored it a draw and could see either guy winning 6-4. Mansour felt like the winner but on a round by round scoring a draw was fair.

Washington did a good job of controlling the distance and pace the first half the fight. The second half he tired and Mansour found success getting inside.

Washington isn't going much farther than he already has in the division. He's too stiff, stamina issues, and just doesn't seem to have it in him.

Mansour would be a decent contender if it wasn't for his age. If he was 30 instead of 43 he'd be a guy to watch for. Instead he'll probably hang around for a couple more years making for fun fights but not beating anyone of note.

I gave Washington 1-4 and 10 ... Mansour everything else. So I had it a draw.

Mansour comes out looking much better of the two as Washington gassed and just won the 10th on avoiding and sticking a few jabs and about 2 rights (which is more than Mansour managed in the final round).

IMO- Washington squandered the real advantage he had in reach. I also felt he demonstrated equivalent power. He could have won this going away, but seemed for the most part scared to let his shots go. Certainly credit to Mansour for making him gun shy, softening the body, and being persistent, but I do not think either of these are viable titlists.
