    Round 7

González is having another round like the fourth, wherein he telegraphs his intentions to sort of "take her easy" by floating away behind a polite jab. Graham making the most of the opportunity, swarming and piling on to González's body as much as he can until clinched. González is feinting and then does a quick little back-step to lure Graham into a stiff jab with a slingshot pace forward again. Crowd likes it, but starts booing when Graham throws a damp towel over things a moment later with a clinch. González on his toes, eager to get into a groove and start landing in volume, but Graham doing a good job rhythm-breaking, stepping inside the jab and tapping him on the diaphragm. Lots of clinching, ref is timely right there in the middle of the action to push them apart.

    10-9 Graham, close

    67-66 González

Mannnnn it's so weird seeing you refer to Gavilan as González. Also, don't be swayed, I don't know what you know of the Keed but he set up alot of Sugar Ray Leonard's tricks; including flurries in the final minute to nick rounds. Don't be fooled.

    Round 8

González is faking the left hook and instead digging with a hard right curved into Graham's haunches. Lots of time spent gummed up together, and upon the push-apart the González jab is seizing the moment. Graham doing more holding than fist work during the center-ring tango. González is slurping either arm out from Graham's with a vibrating motion as though using a suction tube, and then clomping it across the back of Graham's head.

    10-9 González, competitive but clear

    77-75 González

Don't worry, not my first Kiddo rodeo. :deal:

And yeah, if this was, say, a SRR thread I'd be calling him Walker Smith, Jr. :sisi1

I'm warmed by you knowing the Keed (he's a guilty pleasure of mine), but the Robinson mention makes me miss that we could've seen that fight. :(

    Round 9

González is posing and ducking in place, showing the jab but pulling it before it clears the launchpad. González is getting antsy from Graham's pressure, throwing sloppy body combos as Graham crowds in, gloves mostly clattering off the plucky mick's elbows. Graham is again finding a way to excel despite having the demonstrably slower feet, railroading González with pressure and driving a shoulder into him to bait his fight-or-flight instinct and then bounding away from González's wild counter flurries, and finally making his stand once he finds comfortable footing and slamming counter body shots into González as his momentum sends him in almost faster than he can manage and falling into Graham's arms. Big right on Graham's throat by González but he gets hit with a hard body hook simultaneously.

    10-9 Graham

    86-85 González

    Round 10

González is looking ragged and more than a little pissed off as he gavels down right hands in the clinch after being run down by Graham and forced into brawls. Graham sidestepping the jab and not falling prey to González's hook feints, staying the course straight-ahead until in body-hooking range. González is sweeping big roundhouses at the kidney area of Graham, then climbing up to his clavicle, but Graham isn't letting anything score neatly, chin tucked and shimmying in with his shoulders pinched, slugging away downstairs.

    10-9 Graham

    95-95

Hot diggedy...you were not whistling Dixie there, @George Crowcroft - this "Irish Billy" ain't half bad.

Not many welters could've whittled down a Gavilán lead entering an eleventh.

    Round 11

González is throwing upper-hooks slicing into the bottom of Graham's chin from mid-range. Graham landing his own lead hooks and chopping rights, stubbornly refusing to give an inch to González - but getting shellacked for it. Graham is rowing out a nice jab into the face, but González is just murdering the body with hooks and has now incorporated an oil-rig downward-slamming right hand, scoring it repeatedly and denting up Graham's skull with it.

    10-9 González

    105-104 González

    Round 12

González is throwing a long jab, stretching the arm to its limits, and then pivoting left off it before Graham is able to zoom past it and land his own stuff. A few rabbit punches by González and the crowd lets him know they saw and didn't approve. Graham is jabbing the body, getting checked by a González counter-jab from a crouch shot into Graham's fist in midair to neutralize it. González swallowing Graham into clinches and clapping down on him with the free right as Graham works the body.

    10-9 González, close

    115-113 González

It irks me (perhaps a little irrationally...but not overly so, I think) when famous nom de guerres aren't used in RBR titles. Should I do any standalone RBR's in the future, I will use the fighting name in said title. Sometimes, you just gotta smash that ivory tower.

You do you. Celebrities are mere humans too, like the rest of us. Everybody puts their pants on leg by leg. I don't subscribe to any of that "certain people should be above ____" mentality.

    Round 13

González is popping the double jab and finding Graham elusive as he backpedals nearly into a corner to stay off it and then explodes inside with a flush counter right, causing González to hold. Graham is again sticking to González like glue and doing excellent work jabbing him in the pec and just inside his armpit. González visibly frustrated and hacking down at the head and neck of Graham with his freest glove on the inside, but little of it effective.

    10-9 Graham

    124-123 González

    Round 14

González is kicking himself into a lateral trot leftward, seemingly unable to find the motivation to punch and circle at the same time, only stopping occasionally to reach in with a high jab or swat a meager hook at the body. Graham is pressuring and scoring jabs on the front-foot, and then gathering up González into a bear-hug and trading hard looping rights and left hooks from belt to jaw with him. Graham dives in and bowls a right into the belly. González tries cutting in with a left hook and is repelled by Graham twisting, presenting the near hip and bucking into him.

    10-9 Graham

    133-133
