German boxing

It does happen everywhere but usually in fights that are alteast a bit close. Certain places give results that are not even arguable. Germany and Italy are bad for it and lately ive seen a couple in Canada.

 

I think (and I´ve seen) bad decisions everywhere in the world. England, USA, Germany, Italy, Mexico.... you name it.

I honestly think that germany is not worse than many other countries concerning decisions.

Sturm vs. ODH was a robbery
Schulz vs. Foreman was a robbery
Ottke vs. Reid was a robbery

So many bad decisions because of big promotional money...

 

Germany is the best at scamming people.

 

I'll throw Argentina into the mix, Solis v Lazarte was a ****ing travesty. Hopefully history doesn't repeat it's self this coming weekend.

 

Germany is one of the fairest places to fight. The only real abomination I can recall was what they did to Lebedev. I had heard it was bad but just saw for myself recently. I guess the moral of the story is always try to be the house fighter.

Italy and Spain are probably the worst.

 

Especially Italy. That is a DISGRACE if anything...

The German "world champions", dont they usually bring in huge amounts of cash ?
Im guessing thats why there are so many robberies. Its all about the money.

I am German too, but what tilts me the most is not the bad judging but the total disregard for foreign Champions.

Lets take Sturm for example.

German TV wants you to think that he is the undisputed #1 Middleweight in the world, I've never ever heard them acknowledge the fact that Martinez is universally recognized as the ruler of the division. Hell, I dont even think I heard his name once during the broadcasts.

I don't think that Manny Pacquiao was ever seen or even mentioned in german TV.

The last fight without german participation (I leave the Klits out of this bc they are recognized as being half-german around here) i saw in german TV was Mayweather - Hatton, and nobody was interested in it at all.

Sturm had to change his name to make it sound more german bc people were scared fans wouldnt accept him under his real name Adnan Catic. Same with Marko Hukic.

The average german boxing-fan believes that the world of boxing centers around the Klitschkos, Sturm and Stieglitz, they dont even know the best fighters of this era and this is sad and embarrassing imo.

 

Good post. I think it's somewhat similar in the UK. Haye, Froch and Khan are well known (so are Mayweather and Pac to an extent), but ask a random person who Ward or Bradley or Adamak is and they most likely won't know.

Then again, that's mainly the general public. Boxing is quite popular over here, and our fans are quite tuned up.

Don't get me wrong, we have knowledgable fans too, but they are a minority bc they have to go to the internet to learn about the ongoings.

Anything that is not german just gets totally ignored in TV.

Oh wait, i forgot, they broadcasted the Haye - Harrison farce, but again, only bc Haye was a probable foe of the Klitschkos.
