I'm perfectly capable of saying Wlad and Vitali are two good fighters and that both seems like a stand up guys. There are plenty of fighters I like, but, being objective I'm more than capable of criticising them too. No one is above criticism. This is something that seems quite out of your, and your fellow fanboy's comprehension.

This three fight, two different fighter contract is bull****. I don't care what fighters are doing it, I'd call it the same way. You can slong around childish names, and come out with whatever bull**** you want, but The only people looking like idiots here are the same faces constantly trying to defend their idols.

Yes. If you win the title you should be free to fight the number 2 in the division - on your own terms, as the champion, in a place of your choosing. Not on their pre determined financial terms, on their promotional card, just because they happen to be the brother of the guy you just beat. That is bull****.

 

It is very different from the Don King era.

K2 dont blatantly murder people, rob people & commit fraud on a regular basis. They take great care of their sparring partners & are actively involved in various charities.

But, K2 do do things which even Don King never had the balls to do. They offer contracts that say if you beat fighter A you will then face fighter B. If you beat fighter B you will then face fighter A again. If you beat fighter A in a rematch you will then face fighter C with C to be determined at a later date.

All 3 future fights will be promoted by K2 at pre-determined money/percentages & at dates & venues of K2 chosing & with K2's choice of ref & officials.

Furthermore, if you are late to, or do not attend a K2 press conference or contractually specified promotional event you will be faced with an enormous fine. If you wear a non-approved branded product you will also be subject to an enormous fine.

No-one else in boxing does business like, or offers deals like K2. As a voluntary challenger even if you beat a Klitschko you become their slave.

I'm quite new with boxing so I don't really have any sides yet and I'm just confused with all the politics that goes down with the sport, but here is a thought:

If there's a king with unfair laws and rules terrorizing the land, what should a fighter/warrior do? Complain?

The Klitschkos have done a lot for the sport in Europeland, but it suffers in Amerika. And if a guy whips Wladimir fair and square then he is champion and should be able to dictate to Sauerland and others who he fights. As for Vitali, the best thing he could do for boxing right now is retire, leaving only one Klitschko as world champion. The heavyweight division is in terrible shape these days with few viable contenders. At no other time in the history of the sport have so many of its top participants been so old at the "peak" of their careers. Champions compete into their fourties because the competition is so incredibly horrible, all these clumsy 30-something behemoths being babied along for one decent payday. The young fans and short-sighted media have no memory of the great heavyweights of even 40 years ago. All very very sad.

Whats worse is the fact he can foul like theres no tomorrow to prevent a fighter getting close and the ref will allow it because hes been told to.
Guys like Froch and Kessler will refuse to hold in the name of pride and the warrior spirt and go toe to toe for themselves and the fans.

 

It's nothing out of the ordinary for a long term established champion who's offering a VOLUNTARY title shot.

 

its funny how people are so angry with the contracts for a voluntary defense...

people need to consider a few things

1) The individual who was offered the voluntary contract would not have been offered one otherwise (sign at your own risk)... here mr.Char make half a mill or not... but if you do you have to follow these rules (evil monsters those k bros).
2) people are acting as if the klitschkos are the worst promotors in the world (**** off, look at most promotors and klitschkos are angels compared to them)
3) K2 might put on an image with the money they earn by helping 3rd world countries... but never the less they sitll do it. most promotors or fighters don't, mayweather burns money instead of giving it to a good cause.
4) this thread is compromised of mostly haters who will hate and flowers who will defend
5) klitschkos are the best heavyweight of this generation... so deal with it
6) chef... this thread might bug you the most (As the closest friend/source to the klitchkos), but don't pay attention, people will find reasons to hate (human nature)

Show me where it is standard procedure for a challenger to have to sign a contract that says should he win he has to defend his title against a completely different fighter, and should he win that then he has to rematch the former champion again - with both fights being promoted by the former champs promoter, with the financial terms already being determined in the very first contract.
