What exactly is the source for this rumor? Solis isn't currently ranked by ANY of the sanctioning organizations (he was removed from the IBF for their new January rankings).

I don't see anything about Solis being a possible opponent for Wladimir on the German websites.

Or on Polish websites like this one:

    Or Russian websites:

I think the reason Wlad wants to delay Povetkin for the summer is that he wants the fight outdoors so more people can watch and there will be more money in it. In which case I'm perfectly fine with that.

I saw it there too, but the author couldn't identify the "German source", so we should take their article with a grain of salt.

Yep, if that's why, no problem there.

They waited to stage the David Haye fight in the summer as well. That particular fight also had problems trying to get a good TV date IIRC.

Because they ALREADY cleaned out the division. There are a couple guys who refuse to get in the ring with them, and some prospects still building their names, but it's not like there are a ton of top HWs out there one of them hasn't already beaten.

Boxrec doesn't make great lists, but they go a lot deeper than 10:

Pulev - almost in line for a mandatory shot
Povetkin - Has ducked Wlad twice already, and supposedly says they'll fight in the summer anyway
    Haye - beat him
    Adamek - beat him
Fury - still a prospect, and in serious interviews he says he's a year or two away from being ready
    Solis - beat him
    Helenius - has been injured
    Banks - they promote him
    Thompson - beat him
    Chambers - beat him
    Glazkov - still a prospect
Price - says he's not ready yet
    Cunningham - just moved up
    Arreola - beat him
    Chagaev - beat him
    Pianeta
Boytsov - has been injured and himself refuses to step up
    Wach - beat him
Dimitrenko - a bigger bum than half the guys you complained about
    Lawrence
Mitchell - just lost trying to build his name up enough for a fight
    Chisora - beat him
    Charr - beat him

So there you have it I guess. The Klitschkos are disgraces who are ducking Francisco Pianeta and Franklin Lawrence :patsch

And I don't even want to hear that he should fight Marco Huck when the complaint is that they're fighting old men and blown up cruiserweights.

I'd rather see him fight Pulev, sure, but Pulev doesn't seem to be in a rush, and once he beats Adamek the fight will be much bigger anyway. If they fight now, it's just one less good fight available later in the year.

CHEF confirmed Banks will be his trainer. That would be an interesting fight. Which corner would he go back to? :think

I really don't mind this one. Solis was doing ok against Vitali in the one round we saw.

It's true Solis would most likely show up fat but there's always the chance he would cut weight and potentially challenge Wladimir.

If Pulev, Haye, and Fury can't be got then Solis is probably the next best opponent for Wlad after that.

    Good scalp for Wlad's resume.

You're so correct! God Forbid we criticize the Klits though!

Even fat old James Toney was better then Mormeck!

    Charr (fat undeserving bum)

Mormeck (old glass jaw undeserving bum)

Wach (slow, talentless bum, never beat anyone close to good)

He's not intending to win. He's intending to show up and get handsomely paid, that's all.
