Solis is a skilled fighter but he hasn't been active at all recently. Solis is the type of lazy guy who would come in at 290 lbs just to pick up a paycheck. Giving him a title shot right now strikes me as very strange.

    Sure.

Couldn't name too many other guys out there other than the top 5 guys below him, and the US and UK prospects that won't fight him anytime soon.

Solis, Huck, Chagaev II, all the same. Whatever. Wlad doing his thang.

Bad fight for Wlad. The Klitschkos have taken multiple humiliating event losses in a row, and now he wants to take on one of the best ever?

Well if that's the case then that's good to hear. I'd still like him to take a tune-up or two before getting another title shot.

He could fight guys like Boytsov, Dimitrenko or Helenius. I think he has a good chance against all of them.

Exactly. The man has no motivation or dedication to his craft, and to top it off is incredibly untested at the highest level of the professional ranks.

He really has done nothing to warrant this shot, and shouldn't be given one without proving that he isn't just going to dial it in.

He's not even much of a draw. Wlad can do better.

The problem with Solis was that he was handed lots of money way too early. During his time in Hamburg he was seen heading from one strip club to the next with 2 lbs worth of gold around his neck while carrying 35lbs of excess weight around his hips. It's good to hear news he's slimming down in Florida now.

All in all however not exactly the type of 'hungry young contender' we like to see if you catch my drift.

If he has genuinely got into something resembling fighting shape then he wouldn't make the worst challenger in the world. The man is skilled after all.

Still, I don't want to see him just leap into a title shot like this.

I also couldn't find a single "German source" that mentions Solis. Hope this doesn't happen.

Half the fighters you listed that were beaten fought his brother, Vitali. Isn't this thread about Wladimir Klitschkos next fight?

Don't believe it's true because Solis has promoter problems. Wouldn't particularly mind if the fight did happen though.
