German TV promoter, network doing their part to clean up the sport

If ARD has a stipulation that all of the boxers in the Sauerland boxing stable, and their opponents, undergo Olympic Style drug testing as a condition of being broadcast on the network... then how come Abraham's and Kessler's opponents in the Super 6 are not undergoing Olympic Style drug testing.

It sounds like ARD compromised on this stipulation. Why?

To answer your question: I have no idea. Nobody does. I was making a comment about delusional fans, but anyway, on that point, it makes no mention of if Abe and Kessler are taking the tests, and it doesn't eliminate the chance of demanding US boxers to take the test.

I guess a lot depends on coverage, if the Euro fights aren't broadcasted on ARD, then it's not their issue.

You're jumping to conclusions, the article doesn't say the Super 6 is being excepted, nor does it say the opponent won't be tested, just they haven't been asked to yet.

 

well the Abraham fights are all broadcast on ARD. But they say in that article the Americans in the super6 haven't been asked to take the tests. Sounds like for some reason or another they don't wanna impose these tests on the american fighters in the super6

I honestly had to read that twice to believe it. So Andre Ward who is working with Victor Conte doesn't have to take any test and gets hometown refs. Why don't the German promoters just take a baseball bat to AA's knee and be more straight forward? Talk about morons.

 

I'm pretty sure that this is only for ARD events, i.e. Sauerland events in Germany. So if you go to Germany you'll be tested.
Fighters under Sauerland contract can always be tested in and out of competition

Sounds like they decided to waive the mandatory olympic style drug testing clause for that fight too. Why would they do that?
