I did not say much in that post that I have not said before. When the super six started I tried to show people what was really going on, but very few wanted to hear it. Consider Abraham's opponents in the round robin portion of the tourney.

In order to understand why Sauerland is so pissed off, you have to go back to the very beginning of the so called "Super Six." This is Sauerland's baby. His very own brain child. Sauerland set this tournamet up, and he set it up his way. Showtime merely provided a media outlet, and the financial backing.

When it came time to choose the participants, of course Abraham and Kessler would participate. They are Sauerland fighters, but you can't have a tournament with only two fighters. He had to find at least 4 more combatants in order to give it the look and feel of a real tournament.

It would seem that a first round Pavlik/Abraham fight would have been a natural. A fight that would virtually guarantee good ratings on opening night. Nope: Sauerland events did not invite Pavlik to participate. Instead they invited two time Pavlik victim Jermain Taylor; a man who had lost 3 or his previous four fights, and been knocked out in two of those fights. Sure enough, the first fight out of the gate was Abraham/Taylor.

Considering the controversial ending to the first Bute/Andrade fight, it would also seem that a Bute/Andrade rematch would be another natural for the opening round. A TV ratings hit that would do a great live gate. Even though Bute and Andrade were both top ten men in the division at the time, and Bute held the IBF title, Sauerland Events ignored both.

Sauerland ignored the IBF champ, but he did invite Andre Ward. Ward's best win was a damaged version of Edison Miranda; a man Pavlik damn near beat the black off of. Ward had never even been in the ring with a top ten guy, let alone beat one. Sure enough, Kessler's first fight turns out to be Andre Ward.

That brings us to Andre Dirrell. God bless him, I like this kid. However, when the tournament started, his best wins were Oganov and Hanshaw. Zuniga handed Oganov his ass long before Dirrell got to him, and Hanshaw does not have a single significant win.

And finally, there's Carl Froch. This guy is so open to right hands that a KO win for Kessler and/or Abraham seemed like a foregone conclusion before the tournament started.

Sauerland fully expected that his two fighters would waltz through to the final. His plan came together perfectly with hand picked opponents who would make his two boys look like a pair of invincable beasts. He had no idea that Ward and Dirrel would cause him so many problems, but the two young Americans rapidly became the proverbial thorn in his side, and now he is pissed.

Sorry but this sounds like a load of bollocks. Didn't Showtime have any say in the fighters used? Do you really think Sauerland thought Ward/Dirrell would be cans?
