    Yup I saw it:patsch:patsch
Kotelnik got dominated and his face was almost beaten to a pulp but he still got the decision. :-(

Oh yes, great fight. Its worth every byte. Download NOW ! It was no robbery, i had it a draw. It could have gone either way. Some people dont know how to score a fight. Maidana will be back, he is a crazy guy and only the fact that Kotelnik is an excellent technican made it possible for him to keep the title.

when i saw khotelnik against gavin rees i wasnt totally impressed, i thought he made hard work out of a fighter who was naturally a SFW he could have finished rees allot earlier rather then wait so late, another thing that i didnt like about him was his work rate his combo punching was fine he just seemed to go into a shell every so often and not throw enough shots, his defence is very good and so is his in fighting
watching this fight will be very interesting i havent seen this argentine so have no clue about his sryle

    Good point,doc!

Besides the jester who created this thread doesnt seem to be aware that Kotelnik and Maidana are stable mates. They fight for the same German promoter.Another robbery in Germany,eh!

As for their clash both were really worth of each other steel.Classy fight which was pure fun to watch, very entertaining.
Maidana looks like a sure bet to capture a world title very soon.He fought like a raging bull being on the attack throughout the entire fight. However,Kotelnik is a defence artist who impressively and smartly took advantage of the few breathers Maidana had to take now and then.Kotelnik's experience was probably the decisive factor in their encounter. The Ukranian world title holder had to dig very deep to be victorious against an outstandingly dangerous opponent.I guess that Kotelnik will find himself in boiling water when he faces the strong Argie in a rematch in one or two years.
Very close fight which could have gone either way,but Kotelnik was the defending champ so that he probably deserved the victory.
Maidana didnt complain about the outcome of their encounter.Props to him for not playing the role of a sore loser. He will come back and make a lot of noise in his weight division. He just needs a little bit more experience to beat Kotelnik.
I very much hope that there will be a rematch in about 12-15 months.Maidana deserves one.

Maidana vs. Urango would be a barnburner...

Look I did not see the fight, but by the sounds of it.

    The fight was very close.

People stop calling close fights robberies.

Even Dan Rafael said he deserved it in the chat, and Dan Rafael is a well-known anti-Eastern European writer who kicks these boxers in the nuts all the time if they fight mediocre competition while he says 'no other fight was on the table' for western boxers. I think he has Soviet Union or Sputnik-complex or something. And still had Kotelnik winning.

Let's see, the judges were Jean Louis Legland, Gustavo Padilla, and Paul Thomas. The ref was Hector Afu...

Strange... none of them sound German... or Ukrainian. And they all had it by 1 pt and 2 pts...

Those scores were pretty bad, I typically don't cry robbery, but I thought Maidana was in control for almost all of the fight. The most rounds I could have given Kotelnik was 5. As for who the home guy was, the crowd sounded like a Kotelnik crowd, they would scream for a jab if he landed one, but strangely quiet when Maidana was beating him up.
