A bout that would really come down to who landed first, both men were quite reliant on one hand while fighting from everything I know about them... Coetzee would have a bit of a size advantage.

How's I see it to. I've got a feeling coetzee is the man that lands first and hardest here. Could be very early ko for the south African.

Just checked boxrec and saw that Coetzee has an 81' inch wingspan. I had no idea. Could help him out big time here. Good match up by the way, Fergy.

By the time of the Dokes fight Coetzee had developed a serviceable left hook, pretty much a 50.50 fight for me.If I must choose I'll go for Gerrie.

I can't see the much smaller Ingemar surviving the Coetzee
onslaught that rocked Mike Weaver and ko Michael Dokes .

I can't see Coetzee losing to a man scared to grow facial hair.

And this is what it comes down to. To be a credible heavyweight you have to have a bushy moustache, a goatee or at the very least some porkchop sideburns. Ingo doesn't even have a 4 o clock shadow. He's doomed.

On a serious note: Coetzee usually had no problem despatching smaller guys. His gas tank late is questionable, but his arrogant power isn't, and neither was his ability to land that power. At almost 6'4 he'd have quite a large physical advantage over Johanssen. I'll take him.

Ingo has a cleaner record to be sure, losing only to Patterson. He also beat Patterson. That's pretty good, but I think Coetzee fought somewhat tougher opposition and frankly I could see him crack Patterson's eggshell chin too, and probably more decisively.

Coetzee fought much bigger and better guys , that's for sure ... he was much bigger and had a much longer reach .. I'd favor Gerrie ..
