You know, back in the late 1990s, both aging old farts Gerrie Coetzee and Iran Barkley waged war on ESPN 2 for chump change.... Coetzee looked okay at 253 pounds and Barkley looked like a slob at 226 pounds but, all in all, these two Ol' Geezers put on a sloppy but decent show on ESPN 2...

I thought Gerrie Coetzee would be too strong and powerful for Iran Barkley, but I was wrong... Coetzee did drop Barkley early with a shot, but Barkley took the blow well and got himself back in the fight.....

Barkley ended up getting the late round TKO win over an exhausted Coetzee, and Barkley also walked away with some bogus WBF title or some crap in the process as well......

I have the tape somewhere.... I need to locate it..........:bbb

I saw it, and both guys should have been ashamed of themselves..more so Coetzee than Barkley.

Physically speaking, Coetzee carried his 253 pounds a lot better than Bark's 226 pounds of slobishness..... But Coetzee ran outta gas after about 6 rds due to his poor stamina and Barkley came on and clobbered Gerrie Boy into defeat.......

I think Iran Barkley looks like one of those old 1890s or bareknuckle fighters now, looks like he's got an eye missing or mashed up. He always was a scary looking dude, and fought like a warrior, he was a warrior, he is a warrior. Too many fights though, too much punishment. And, financially, he ended up with nothing to go on with from boxing.

He's one of those guys whose story represents the good and the bad of the sport. He was a credit to the sport, but apart from glory and respect what has the sport left him with ? I guess boxing saved him from a life of gangs, crime, jail or early grave, but boxing isn't a long-term option. I dont know where his money went, and i'm not saying the world owes him anything, but still, it makes you wonder who's looking out for who ......

Well, when you said western charcter actor I thought of a black guy, Woody Strode, but he was a good-looking guy, nothing like Barkley.

Then I thought of Jack Elam, he was in loads and loads of westerns ......

Once Upon a Time In The West (posted above)
    The Comancheros

loads of westerns, yeah, and he was in The Cannonball Run. :rofl

 Yeah, Woody was like Jack Johnson, but even bigger.

Once upon a Time In the West is great, with Charles Bronson and Jason Robards too, and Henry Fonda playing the bad guy, and some fine Italian chick as the female. :yep
