I'm giving C00ney a real live chance against these guys.

Coney knocks all of them out.

None of these men would crack the top 10 of the 1950s. Pit ****ey against the best 50s contenders

There is nothing in C00ney's record, to suggest that he should be favored over any of these guys, except perhaps Matthews.

Take prime C00ney back to 1971 and he'd KO all of these guys.

C00ney was a force indeed, he was a big man that packed a wallup, and could box.

Problem was he was weak for his size.

Layne would be a shootout, ****ell and Lastartza liked to stay at mid range or come inside, and that plays into ****eys hands.

Mathews has a better shot than most think,

I would say C00ney loses 1 of 4, But edging towards 2-2. C00ney had a tendency to fight down to his opponent level, He was a front runner that could find a way to lose if you showed toughness and could weather his shots. C00ney never found a way to survive once you got him in trouble.

One thing the old timers had, was toughness and experience, Both qualities were the Bane of C00ney.

You still need to watch fights, but you need to look at records to understand what you are actually seeing.

That is all he did though.

He never beat a single fighter ranked in the top 10, and he should not be favored over people with a proven track record against such opposition.

Coo ney was beaten by three All Time Great fighters. Coc kell was beaten by Dave Goodwin, Red Spring, Jock Taylor (x2), Johnny Taylor, Johnny Barton, Jimmy Carroll and Aaron Wilson.

Janitor is right. Records can tell a lot.

But don't you know that you're only supposed to focus on the highlights?
