Cooney wasn't exactly a bad boxer despite his clumsiness though. He did much better against Holmes than one would have expected a total hypejob to do. Took Holmes a long time to put Gerry away, and Holmes was a great champion. I don't see why it would be totally out of the realm of possibility for Cooney to just outbox Chuvalo.

    Unpolished talent against crude toughness.

I got to go with Chuvalo for the upset win here. Likely late stoppage against a fatigued Cooney.

I’ll go with Cooney by decision after some scary moments late. I think his power and aggression will win him majority of rounds. He was able to bust up Jimmy Young (whom would go on to win his next 5 fights and earn ring comeback of the year) And stop him. If you couldn’t move against Cooney like Holmes and Spinks did it was tough going as he hit like a truck.

I think Cooney's power will be the dominant factor here. I expect a TKO: the ref will stop the fight because Chuvalo takes too many hits or because of cuts.

    TKO Cooney: 35%
KO Cooney: 20% (probably early due to a body shot)
    DC Cooney: 10%
    TKO / KO Chuvalo: 15%
    DC Chuvalo 20%
