Brewster isn't even 40 years old NOW. He had just turned 34 for that bout, not even 3 years older than Wlad himself.

You have again debunked any potential of constructing an argument by hurling falsehoods. Nice try.

That's quite the misquote. I'm tempted to say there are kids with better reading comprehension in seventh grade.

Care to point me to who actually posted that Wlad moves faster than Larry Holmes?

That may of been a mistake but the fact he was a battle worn , injury induced retired boxer who was a shadow of himself in the ring was not.

On level with Holmes.. Such a stupid comment deserves to be exaggerated.

Wladimir's feet are consistently the most underestimated part of his game. He moves exceptionally well for a such a big man and well into his thirties too. That enables him to keep his preferred distance and dismantle contender after contender, beating on them one-sidedly to boot.

I know champions traditionally only get their kudos after they've retired, but I don't have to pretend to be blind in order to fit in, I hope.

Wlad's opposition has been poor his three best opponents have been Brewster , sanders and haye .personally i feel cooney could quite possibly beat all three . Certainly apart from those three cooney would definitely be favoured to beat the rest of wlad's title challengers. Wlad's improvement has been judged against some of the weakest set challengers in the divisions history

The only three of anything of note Cooney ever beat were three totally washed-up has been's. He never beat a contender of note.

Can't argue really with that the only thing I will add which is obvious so sorry for doing so . Wlad lost to two of the three I previously mentioned I am skeptical how wlad would mentally handle a good level aggressive fighter with power. But I can't take anything away from wlad he appears to always be in shape and prepared properly for his fights

Wlad would have struggled against quite a few of yesteryears champs, but not Gerry.

    Mr Butt,

I think it's highly unlikely that Brewster, Sanders were as good as Byrd, Peter and Chagaev. Also don't forget, Wladimir also BEAT brewster in a rematch. Stop forgetting about that.

I have not forgotten but lets add that the rematch was what 3 years after their first meeting and Brewster was coming off a loss plus had not fought in over a year so the odds were definitely stacked in wlads favour

do I think cooney beats peter , bryd and the chagaev that faced wlad (I don't think was prime), yes I do . but this is all just points of view that cant really be proved 100% either way so we will just have to disagree

I think Cooney could potentially beat Peter and Chagaev.. Ruslan wasn't all that good, and I watched a 40 year old inactive Oleg Maskaev land flush left hooks that rocked Sam Peter all over the place before gassing and getting hammered... Vitali Klitschko at the age of 37 and fresh off a four year layoff pounded Peter to submission in his first fight back.... Byrd had the mobility and skill to outbox Gerry to a decision... But he was a hell of a lot smaller and didn't have much power.. His chin wasn't bad, but probably no better than average, so I wouldn't make Gerry a huge underdog in that one either
