All the guys I mentioned were clearly losing their fights until a certain punch changed it all. How is it any different?
Now you're being pedantic! You're serioulsy going to compare a fight like Castillo/Corrales with the uneventful (except for the last punch) Gonzalez/Penalosa. and still ask "how is it any different":-(
Castillo/Corrales(both known punchers) was full-on action from start to finish. These guys kept changing the tide of the fight with over and over with the same punches. It was only a matter of time before the constant bombardment of heavy artillery would take a toll on either one of them. Finally one of them succumbed to the punishment. A CLASSIC before the fight even finished! And then you have Gonzalez/Penalosa, where Gonzalez was simply boxing his way to a simple victory when Penalosa)who is NOT known for his KO power) hits the lotto. If you still can't tell the difference than I'm afraind I cant help you!
You are so asinine, the early rounds of that fight was competitive, maybe all for Gonzalez but certainly not dominance. By midway Penalosa knew he was way behind and those who followed Penalosa's career could see he dropped his defense considerably much more then hes used to invite Gonzalez to open up more. Gonzalez took the bait and was fighting more on the inside,Penalosa was looking for that 1 big shot and found it. You definetely never laced up before to compare a liver shot to hitting the lotto atsch
he was thinking gonzales was coasting to an easy win. what he failed to see was despite gonzales ravking up points, the fight was very competitive and penalosa could turn the tide any moment and that's what he did
He's Pac's idol. I too want him to retire as his best days are behind him and he has nothing to prove.
I could only think of a WBO setup for that loss at the expense of an ageless and fearless warrior... It was a close fight, alright, but Gerry clearly edged out Morel. Damn shame that Paco's countryman would be a little bit more favored in a close fight like that, and Gerry's age made him even more expendable in the eyes of the boxing demigods... :verysad
Its not the first time Gerry has done it man. He has done the same exact thing several times before. You must be mexican. Gerry is def one of my fav fighters to watch.
I had him beating Tokuyama, I can upload it for people but it was a boring fight. His title winning effort against Kawashima is much better, Gerry wins that fairly comfortably, and Kawashima was a good fighter.
Gerry's defining fight was his title win over Kawashima in a foreign country. They almost took it from him with a bull**** SD, but he performed really well in that fight against a good fighter.
