Just because someone isn't 'elite level' doesn't mean they're not great fighters who would give you problems. How many people thought Davis would've smashed up pedraza like that. He's no mug

None of this is a knock on Gervonta Davis' ability as a boxer in the ring. He's a genuinely good fighter.

I woke up to news of him calling out Tevin Farmer on instagram on the Mayweather-McGregor undercard - that is actually perfectly acceptable to me. I feel everyone overrates Farmer but at least it's at the lowest rung of 'acceptable' fighters to face who isn't a belt holder. BUT then he proceeds to say 'WINNER FIGHTS BILLY DIB' - WHAAT!?

I'm talking about the opponents he's faced. Pedraza and Walsh were very good fighters. Davis is elite. And he's showing it by the way he's dispatching these guys

Pedraza was a B grader (I gave big props for that win and was supporting Gervonta), Walsh was C+. When you have a belt, they're not 'very' good. The argument is that no fighter should milk his belt seeking guys like Walsh - if he wants to develop, vacate the belt and develop. Don't stop champs seeking greatness i.e Lomachenko from unifying. If you can't get in with the big boys, don't call yourself a 'champ'.

Milking his belt. Walsh was mandatory. And I agree with you on the part where if your a belt holder than you should be unifying regardless of age or experience. If your good enough your old enough. Unfortunately floyd knows lomacnenko is dangerous for the appeal for Davis which is why the fight won't get made anytime soon but I do believe Davies would take the fight. It's just floyd that's the problem

Hate hearing world champs aren't ready for other world champs. Its a blatant a duck there is. Then u hear boxing fans saying " I understand hes not ready yet" bull**** and they make excuses too. Usually from the same country or skin colour, or they'd throw them under a train, its blatantly clear !

Davis is still developing. Even though he's a belt holder, he's really still in the contender phase. It might be fun from a sadistic boxing fan's perspective to ruin him fighting the best fighter in the world, just like it's fun to want Usyk to fight Joshua right now, and I'm sure it was great fun seeing Fernando Vargas go up against Trinidad way too soon. But as an investment, you would be absurd to make a Lomachenko fight happen anytime within the next two years. It doesn't prove anything; Davis isn't there yet.

Put him up against the bottom half of the top 10 in the division, pick off another belt if it becomes vacant, and wait until the end of next year to move on to the top half of the top 10. That's how responsible managers and promoters manage careers.
