Yeah, it's a political cherry pick, that's for sure. This is just another WBA-Haymon marriage to build Davis' brand by labeling him a three-division "champion", which is nothing more than a contemporary joke. Also, Ellerbe and Co. saw what a less dynamic southpaw in Akhmedov did with Barrios, so I imagine they feel pretty comfortable here.

 

Nah no cherry pick. You don't move up 2 weight classes and face a big puncher it's very dangerous and that's why many people here are picking Barrios to pull off a win. Dumb move by tank imo.

 

Imagine being dumb enough to think Davis isn’t protected? Imagine being dumb enough to think Loma is scared of him considering who he’s fought?

 

It was a dumb move by tank, especially since no one was asking for this fight. A fight with Garcia and Haney would make way more money and both are low risk. Respect to Tank though, I still think he wins
