Must be upsetting to get so much credit for doing so little for so long... And then get that slowly reduced, drop out of P4P lists (never should've been there anyway) all whilst doing just as little as he always had.

Deserves the obscurity and irrelevance he chose.

Interesting. I feel sorry for Lamont Roach. He should have gotten the nod in the 1st fight. Now Tank is done. No rematch, no big payday for LR.

"Fed up" = My scam is over. I dont think I can win the Roach rematch. Shakur will beat me easily. And Turki now rules the sport and unlike my daddy Al, he's actually forcing the best to fight the best. Let me retire now before I lose my 0.

    This is the real reason:

Premier Boxing Champions released a behind the scenes look at Davis' preparation for the right, titled "GLOVES OFF". In it, Davis speaks about his fear of losing, which has always driven him.

"I just don't want to look bad come fight night. My biggest fear is being embarrassed, especially in front of all these people, worldwide. Then you become this meme. I ain't got time for that. I ain't trying to go out and get my butt kicked. I don't want to be embarrassed"

Tank is scared of losing, becoming a meme, and having everyone talk trash. He said that before the Roach fight, and after getting a lucky draw I'm certain that fear has become a paralyzing, terrifying dreadful thought living rent free in his head like a tumor. With all these young strong opponents out there like Inouie, Mason, Stevenson, and of course a Roach rematch, it's no shocker at all he'd rather retire despite the fact he's only fought about 2 world class opponents at the age of 30...!!!

    “well…. BYE!”

That dork was bad for the sport. And I was getting a chuckle out of certain individuals trying their damndest to push the stupid “Tank da face of boxing now” narrative. He wasn’t. Usyk is now.

The Al Haymon effect = sign with me and I will get you millions of dollars a fight to fight cannon fodder. Now that Turki has stepped in and there's no PBC protection programme, Tank knows he can't fight under Haymon protection and would actually have to fight dangerous opposition. It's sad that at one point, the new "4 Kings" were marketed as Tank, Garcia, Shakur, and Teo, and they'd all rather argue on social media than get in the ring with each other.

The sport is fed up with him.

I'd say good riddance, but we know he'll come back before long against a washed up long time PBC member.

This thread has an awful lot of hate for a guy who provided us with a lot of entertaining fights and great knockouts. Tank isn't my favorite fighter and certainly not my favorite human being but, as a fight fan, I will miss him in the ring.

Yeah it was pretty entertaining watching Lamont Roach smack the grease out his hair, too bad we won’t get to see that again.
