Tommy Hearns was only 22 years old and still a little green when he fought Leonard. Erik Morales was only 23 when he fought Barrera and still developing technically, he still fought him. Duran was only 19 and at that time one dimensional brawler and still green when he fought Ernesto Marcel (the man who beat Arguello).

on another thread the thread maker seems like a very big lomachenko fan, maybe he feels davis is a threat to beat lomachenko I'm guessing that's where his problem stems from

Davis just won the title and you act as if he should get back in the ring next week to fight Lomo, else he should drop his newly won title.

The only thing I disagree with the OP about is already saying Davis will milk the title. He's only had the belt for 2 weeks so he hasn't time to milk the belt.

He's just assuming that's how Davis will treat the belt. Though he's probably correct in his assumption that Davis will end up milking it for years.

To be fair at least they are honest enough to admit he isn't ready to hang with Loma. The point of defending your belt is vs the mandatory contender. No harm in doing this for a while.

If the public were clamouring for a fight against someone it would be different, but they aren't so I don't see the harm in his current path.
