I really really in the worst way want to say Mares by schooling, but that would be a lie. Tank by drawn out beating and late stoppage.:ohno

Mares is biting off more than he can chew. He's a small fighter suited for 118-122, not 130.

I just can't see how he can win this fight.

As if there weren't plenty reason enough to root for Mares already, imagine how embarrassed both sides of the Davis vs. Farmer social media beef would be if they had spent the last couple of years jawing at each other, lollygagging, and not getting in the ring, only for a "washed up" entity like Mares to swoop in and upset the apple cart, depriving them of the maximum payoff they arrogantly believed they were building towards (as if nobody could beat them except one another)?

I'm really shocked that Mares got top billing.

Mares was past his best 5 years ago. Another meaningless fight. Cmon Tank. Fight Loma or Mikey. Call out Rigondeux at least. He could use and deserves the payday and a win would make a statement to the boxing faithful.

Tank is gonna pound Mares out viciously............
Mares is too little and stylistically shopworn.

Bad combination to be going in against a killer

Why the disdain for Davis? Hes a hard nosed pressure fighter. Good fighter to watch.

    I voted Davis by stoppage..sadly.
I like Mares but his style is played out and hes been on the B side of a lot of fights lately, but hes been at least competitive. This here feels like they're feeding him to the wolves.

Prevailing opinions range on Tank, in my observation, from vague dislike to indifference (with a vocal minority of ardent supporters) but I think in this it's become more a case of Mares being more or less universally liked (at least, with any distaste people once had for his propensity toward nut-shots having been softened with the passage of time) and compounding his already popular style and sympathetic personage is the impression of him being cherry-picked here by a much bigger opponent in their prime.

I think Davis is pretty much a protected fighter. In the sense that his resume isn't much besides the Pedraza win. Who as it turns out is a pretty good fighter.

Mayweather doesnt want him taking a loss. And so he wont really put him in him with a very high level guy like Berchelt or Loma.

And I think hes actually a fairly decent guy. I dont think hes a douchebag potshotter like FMJ is and was.

He comes from the inner city of Americas most dangerous and roughest city. Not exactly an ivory tower type of guy. So got to keep things in perspective.
