Yup. He does. In fact, prime Gvozdyk would probably dominate the mid to late 2000's era in LHW boxing. Just came along at the wrong time. Beterbiev is such a bad match up for him. Really bad.

Gvozdyk looked shot. Slow ineffective jab, hooks that were softer than what a baby could throw. Just some good right hands landed along with a few decent uppercuts. He should have tried to go around Benavidez's guard but didn't feel he could safely do it. I hate seeing a great fighter look slow and old.

Martin is Tanks best opponent since Pitbull. His rare step up in quality opponent. In a different division Martin could be a decent title holder. Too bad for him 135 is stacked.

Then why has Canelo avoided fighting him. Makes no sense if he's no trouble, would be big money, and a really good name to put on his HOF resume.

Beterbiev and Bivol spank him at 175
Canelo spanks him at 168 or 175 but he would make big money in the process

If I were him Id do a deal to fight Canelo at 168 then a rematch at 175. Take the big money and walk away from boxing

He did fine against a still good version of Gvozdyk but Gvozdyk's once excellent combination punching is no longer there and his power not the same either which is a concern for Benavidez

idk.... h2h? sure maybe. p4p and relative to their own weight divisions? probably not. Andrade is a MW and Plant a featherfisted SMW. Both are still top 5 in their own weight divisions, I'm not sure that's the case with Gvozdyk anymore. He's looked off since his comeback to me.

Don't forget, that Gvodzyk was the favorite, going agains Beterbiev.

He was considered best LHW at that moment
