He sure was! Had a great chin for a number of years, but sacrificed himself for some fights he could have passed up… the Green fight is definitely one!

Fun story. I met Shane and David at a child Cancer Charity event around 2011 - a couple of years after their showdown. Both fine examples of how to carry yourself outside of the ring. After everything, it was awesome to see them joking with each other, taking photos with fans and raising money for children that really, really needed it. I had a chance to chat with Shane for about 20 minutes about Parker coming through the ranks. He had nothing but praise - a real down to earth Kiwi.

I wish David had come away with more than he did…Shane did well in opening Counterpunch gym.

 

Fair assessment

It depends how Garcia starts. If he can take the fight to Davis, like Cruz did - you never know.

Don’t forget, many had Tank losing a close fight to Cruz…who I would consider level with Garcia in terms of experience at the elite level. Personally, I think Garcia is more talented than Cruz.

So an upset is not off the table! (Outside of whack scorecards, of course)
