Both are similar hype jobs. Only difference is Broner actually tried to step up, but failed. Tank learned the lesson of Broner, and probably will never attempt to face any real opposition.
Broner was a big weight bully at 135 & fought plenty of midgets but Davis is a midget so mmmm He also got outboxed by Ponce De Leon who was much smaller and got outboxed by Quintero Davis should outwork him.
This is an interesting matchup for some reason. I think Tank is the better fighter... but for some reason I see a prime Broner giving him some issues. Broner would be bigger and arguably faster and sharper. To top it off he has a decent chin that could probably take Tanks power... and he's tough. That being said... I'll go ahead and go with Tank by close, competitive decision. He's just too much the better fighter imo, and Broner is too mentally deficient for me to pick Broner here.
Broner. Broner has a great chin at welterweight, I think he could take tanks power. Broner can obviously outbox Tank and Broner has more than enough power at 135 to keep Davis honest, if not hurt Davis. This is coming from one of Broners biggest detractors. I like Tank a lot more than Broner but Broner is too big and too strong.
He also hurt Porter twice. He is fast, and powerful, and tough. I agree with you. What he isn't is active. I haven't seen anything in Tank yet that says he can be ended with one shot, and that's all Broner does, one shot at a time.
Yeah, I totally forgot that he dropped Porter! I don't think Tank can survive those shots that Mikey and Maidana and Broner took. Those guys have 10-15 pounds on Tank on fight night. Hence why I pick Broner to stop him.
Interesting matchup. By the time Broner was Tank’s age, he fought much better opponents. Tank hasn’t fought anyone in years. Two similar fighters, Broner was a punk like Tank but I always found him entertaining and likable despite his antics. I hope Tank starts stepping up his opposition and doing whatever it takes to NOT be like Broner. Broner is a cautionary tale for any fighter. Not a good guy to be compared to. Wasted talent. Hard to say who would win, both guys have strengths. Both have glaring weaknesses. Tank would have ducked prime Broner. Broner would have gladly taken the payday to fight Tank. That’s for sure.
This match up would be for the undisputed smoke & mirrors king hype jobs title The fake three-weight world champion vs the real four-weight one/but there's just as much smoke & mirrors when it comes to his accomplishments as there is with his baby boo Twink's When, as is so often the case with these fighters who boil themselves down to beat up on naturally smaller/much smaller opponents, Broner moved up in weight and started facing opponents his own size or bigger he didn't look anywhere near as impressive as he did when he was beating up on leprechauns down at the lower weights and ever so surprisingly the KOs dried up. But to be fair, he did actually fight some good fighters like Manny, Maidana, Porter and Mikey in between all the janitors and dog walkers he fought. Sure he got his ass whooped by all of them but he did actually take on a bunch of legit threats Twink wouldn't have gone within a 1000 mile radius of if their was a boxing ring and two pairs of boxing gloves located within it. As for who would win if they fought each other? Well, Broner should probably have double the amount of his official losses given all the gifts and controversial decisions he's received from the judges and I think Twink would probably beat some of those guys who were robbed or who lost highly controversial decisions against him. But what happens if Broner lets his hands go? The Broner who lets his has fly is basically a smaller SRR so I guess it all depends on which version of him shows up.
Bump As much of a tool as Broner is he did have talent and skills, he just couldn't keep it all together for obvious reasons. The Broner that demolished Antonio DeMarco could potentially be a tough fight for Tank IMO.
