    Round 2

Núñez is trying to get a bead on Davis with the orthodox 1-2 while circling clockwise. Davis is coiled up tightly, ready to explode, looking for an opening. Davis practically springing at the knees, rearing to go. Davis starts to feel it, stepping in behind the high planking southpaw jab, digging a few lefts on the body. Davis now opening up with combos. Núñez falls back against the ropes, shelling up. Some of Davis' shots are getting through; many are not. The ref is having a look. Davis keeps firing. Núñez still blocking and slipping a few shots, but also eating some. Ref makes a judgment call, in, waving it off.

    TKO2!!

You can be a lot of things in this life. But there is only one thing that you cannot be. ******. You cannot go full ******.

Someone should have explained that to nuñez before this fight.

Tank is a murderous puncher but thats an awful stoppage considering someone died in this state in a national TV fight a week ago. This is the residue of that. If we are being honest this was just a matter of time anyway.

    Lololol what a goddamn con...

Baltimore is the most rotten boxing city in America.

That stoppage is the worst possibly I've ever seen??! wow.

Nunes was coming alive in the second. Such a joke.

So-so stoppage. One could argue it was the same circumstances as Calzaghe vs. Manfredo, although Davis did hurt Núñez earlier in the round. At that moment, though, Ricardo was lucid and intelligently defending himself and hadn't taken anything really jarringly concerning (or too many consecutive/unanswered flush shots) in a while even though he was pinned on the ropes under heavy fire.

Yeah you have to think the refs are feeling a little more pressure because of it

Probably an 8 count was in order since those were the ropes holding Nunez up, but nobody's taking chances this weekend, after what happened on last weekend.

Had nuñez put his chin higher in the air, he would have broken his neck. What an idiot....

IB he still had his wits about him bro.... He was ready to pivot off the ropes

I’m calling it an early stoppage but not the worst EVER but still too damn SOON

Is an 8 count part of the rules in Baltimore?

I'm not sure what Malignaggi and Bernstein are whining about. Nunez was getting bombed out and the stoppage was good.

They showed a slow motion replay from a side angle.. Núñez did react pretty dramatically to a couple of Davis' left hooks (neck going rubbery, back of the head nearly bouncing off the uppermost ring-rope) ...but , Davis also missed the majority of his telegraphed looping rights and more than half of the rest of his left hooks in that finishing exchange...and Núñez immediately after each time it looked as if he was on the verge of being knocked out would blink it off and looked totally fine & ready to counter-punch...

I think Ricardo is just the sort of guy who, if a ref is putting him under hard scrutiny, is apt to get stopped in fights where he is maybe still okay, if he's getting actively bombed on.
