Definitely. He'll be back and better as he gets more bouts under his belt.

You're right. It worked out for Tank and failed miserably for Loma. They both holstered their shots against the bigger opponent. Except Tank was blessed with 1 shot power,, Loma with sublime skill.
How did you have it scored at the time of the stoppage? I had it about even. Still think Davis landed the harder shot to that point as well.

I wouldn’t say with any confidence Tank is a bigger puncher than Lomachenko. Lomachenko has better KOs against better opponents than Tank.

Tank actually has a better ring IQ than you give him credit. Yes he has devastating power but he is very fast as well with great athleticism. He has several ways to win a fight. He and his team knew that Rolly while not the most skilful, was big , strong and could punch and more importantly awkward. So they were not going to take him lightly because an awkward puncher is a dangerous guy. The plan was to lure Rolly in and they did not have to do it early. They knew exactly what they were doing. Rolly jumped in and eat a counter which means goodnight Irene with Tank’s power.

Hahahaha that's funny CST, I always been high on Tank, but like you I was a bit worried about Rolly. Especially when I saw Tank yawning during warm-ups, I was like uh-oh does Tank wanna be here. But once Tank started walking to the ring the crowd woke him up. Then as the rounds went on and Tank got through the early stages, the wheels started churnin. Rolly looked good early but Tank bided his time and started gettin in his head.

The Canelo sent me into a tailspin? Really how is that considering how worried I was about Canelo losing to Bivol. Remember I favored Bivol to win, don't forget that.

I think both guys did good tonight in the contexts they were in.

I kept hearing about how badly Rollie sucked and that Tank was going to walk through him. Reality was Rollie was bullying Tank a bit in there and making him plenty uncomfortable at times and had spots of decent momentum. He's obviously not as bad as was being advertised by the masses.

Tank imo did a good job of staying focused on the kill shot while in backpeddling mode... waited until the opening was there and pressed game over.

It was a skilled version of what Wilder does sometimes... in a small (small) sense.

Also thought it was a fun fight. Tank was vulnerable on one hand and on the other hand you knew he could end it at any moment.

    Next Up...

Rollie vs Cruz would be fun no?

    And Tank vs Ryan?

Fingers crossed this amazing division doesn't commit suicide via people not fighting eachother. Hope the fights happen that validate how stacked the division is.

Go ahead and bump them. What will everyone see? It would be me saying that Barrios is going to give Tank fits, and might even pull off the win if Tank can't take his power. Was that because I rated Barrios so highly, or because I don't rate Tank all that highly? The only thing Tank has been doing for the last few years, is proving he's slightly better than average fighters that have been brought in to lose. Which essentially proves my point.... repeatedly. Sure, all of the Tank fanboys can slobber all over his knob, like loons, for saying they pick Tank by KO. Which is the safest pick ****ing imaginable. But they always sing the same song and dance... Tank is soooo much better than this guy, and I say... no, he's really not. Then they prove they can hang, win a ton of rounds, and Tank has to bail himself out with his power. Newsflash, it's not because they're all way better than advertised. Tank just isn't that good.

No I honestly think Cruz will beat him and I don’t hate Tank. I’m disappointed because I thought he could be so much more than what he has become. Has Tank said he’s open to the rematch? He seemed to want nothing to do with it even immediately after the close and controversial win. I truly want to see that fight, if Davis can win that fight he gets big credit from me. With a full training camp and experience on the big stage I think Cruz wins, especially since Tank seems to be getting worse as a boxer.

Tank has multiple gears he can shift into. At times early on it looked like Rolly had the range to tag Tank at will, but Tank has a lot of subtle footwork, he knows when to take a stap back and avoid shots, he was caught a couple of times but recovered each time, Tank was super patient and found openings to tag Rolly with some good single shots like that straight left.

Tank has a solid chin and he is defensively responsible which is a good thing.

4-2 Rolly, with one of Rolly's rounds denoted as close.
