It's like Chisora and Whyte claiming to be PPV fighters despite never being the champ of their division.

When you have two top ten fighters facing each other, neither of whom is the champion of the world, there's no reason for it to be PPV.

 

He's not really. Sold just over 250K his last fight. Hardly makes one a draw Olu. Being on PPV is just the way to overpay these punks.

 

Theres been some high profile fights between non champions that have done well on PPV. Vargas-Mosley 1 did 410k ppv buys. Canelo-Angulo did 350k ppv buys. Trinidad-Mayorga did 420k ppv buys. Its not impossible to think that 2 of the biggest names in the lighter divisions, Tank and Garcia could produce the same type of numbers here or even exceed them. If it does happen anytime within the next 2 years it will definitely be on PPV.

 

Vargas, Shane, Canelo, Tito, Mayorga....ALL were more popular and well known than Garcia and Tank are

 

Yea to you.. but to the casuals they arent, which unfortunately for you make up for most of their fanbase.

Well i was making an example of fights that were on PPV between non champions and you want to argue popularity? Truth is Casuals dont know who Fernando Vargas is. Some of them know who De La Hoya is but they dont know Mosley beat him.

Tank has been hitting 300k ppv buys or close to pretty consistantly as of late, and you dont think with the addition of Garcia to the marquee, that it wouldnt sell at least 500k?

Most Casuals do know who Garcia is for sure, and Tank being his biggest rival in boxing definitely makes him pretty known as well. Theyre like peanut butter and jelly they just go together mang.

You can ask any person who truly watches boxing casually if they know who felix trinidad is, im 99% certain they wont know. You ask thst same casual who Garcia and Tank are im 99% certain they know who they are, and will probably tell you that they are a big fan of Ryan Garcia. Times have changed lance.

 

Tank vs Ryan is a great fight if it happens.

I don't see how this is not PPV when Wilder v Helenius and Ruiz vs Ortiz were recently on PPV.

 

With the way boxing has been this year I don't want to hear any of it until they are doing the ring walks

Neither of them are chasing the Haney fight, neither of them are doing whatever it takes to face the champion.

Now it could well be that this is purely because Haney is tied up with a rematch. Either war this isn't a ppv fight.

 

The way i see it is they should face eachother first then the winner face haney. Niether have really earned a shot tbh.
