I am tired of this excuse

if Mike Tyson can become Heavyweight Champion at 20 years old, then you can't use the "age" excuse,Gervonta is ready to face the elite competition

    lol so what about Tyson

22 is pretty young. You don't mature mentally until 25 years old.

Different situations. Young Mike Tyson could be a heavyweight titlist in the current time. Davis is a talent, but not a that level. He is still developing as a fighter. Only a moron would put him into a bad match up at this stage. The fight the haters want, will be there two or three years down the line. We saw what happened to Lomachenko against that old fringe Contender, when he tried to step up too early, in his second pro fight.

Remember when Salido, the more experienced fighter, beat Lomachenko? Age meant nothing and the old lion rag dolled the newbie. He only weighed in 2lbs over so don't talk that corny "weight" issue **** you fans have in your pockets.
Salido was chin checking Loma. Thats when I knew he was in over his head and that he was a hype.

I disagree. Some guys are more developed at certain ages then others. It also depends on what you are trying to do with your career. Davis' handlers are steering him properly when taking into account of his talent, size, and skill level. He's good, but he's not elite level at this point of is career in my opinion.

He HAS elite talent right now but he just needs more seasoning. You can't make elite, elite fighters have it immediately, not that they're ready but you can't say Davies isn't elite yet. He'd an elite talent like it or not.

He'll get better as a all around fighter, he's not waiting to "build" elite talent.

I guess it's easier if in say imho only special fighters can have elite talent, not anybody can be an elite fighter , to me. Like the Walsh dude, no matter how much he trained he couldn't ever ever ever be elite in the ring, never ever

It depends on where they draw the line on level of comp for me. I don't expect him to fight Loma in 6 months, but there's still plenty of fights for him thatll work for development and be acceptable defenses.

Absolutely. I was throwing in videos of guys in the past who get the excuse of being "too green" when facing one guy, but ready for the world when facing another.
I was trying to be an intentional butt. PUN INTENDED!!
