If you are a world champ, then you are ready, simple as that

I think age and experience is normally a fine excuse for a fighter to avoid the top dogs and continue developing and facing better and better competition. Maybe a guy learns from the experience of facing the best or maybe you kill his confidence and his hype. Why risk it?

I guess the problem with Davis though is that he is now a beltholder and is billed as a "world champion." I find it preposterous to call a guy a world champion and then in the same breath say he is still developing and not ready to face the best in his weight class. What the hell kinda logic is that.

As an aside to this I watch a lot of and follow MMA and am seeing a similar sort of debate where Mighty Mouse can potentially take a fight against a top guy from the division above, who is willing to move down to fight him, and his DJ's fans are saying it's too risky a fight when he is trying to tie the title defence record. The same fans that say he is the P4P #1. This stuff makes no sense to me. If you are the best, or a world champion, then prove it against the best you can or admit you dont deserve the title and drop it.

So Loma is the only one considered elite? Did Tyson fight a Loma caliber guy at 20? Why can't Tank fight Corrales or Berchelt first? The thing is I think Loma himself would want Tank to get more wins under his belt so he'd truly get the credit, but his weirdo fans want him as green as possible.

Floyd's obviously petrified of the idea of Loma beating Tank, because if he does then there's going to be massive pressure put on him to get in there with Loma himself to exact some kind on revenge on Tank's behalf for beating the snot out of his protegee.

    That's what I'm talking about.

Depends on the fight. Pedraza vs Davis was a fight where Pedraza was better from the outside. Davis had done nothing to make him try and come into the trenches. It seemed like a macho thing. Pedraza wanted to be macho and fight the dumb fight up close, instead of the smart fight from the outside.

The irony. Tyson beat everyone at the current top at 20. And whatever this is, it was good enough for Fluid but it's not good for Tank. You know, Fluid did that to Canelo and you guys can't get enough of him. And here's where the irony comes in, you afraid for Tank when the roles are reversed. Huh... things that make you go huh. Double standards are a bish huh?
