He's calling him out, so I guess in his mind he's prepared to counter the movement. Anyway, real fighters want to avenge a loss.
I don't see the result being any different. If anything, it'd be worse than the first fight, because Lomachenko has gained so much more experience since then.
Agree, Gervonta is already the second best TBE ever, only Floyd is ahead of him in The Best Ever rankings.
Yeah, props to Russell. And it's not like Loma is high profile in the sport now and calling him out would keep Russell relevant. And because Loma is still an obscurity, there would be no reason to go chasing a rematch for a bigger pay day too. And even though Loma has only had eight fights, he's already on that rematch bandwagon so clearly he's gonna target someone he's already beaten rather than the dude he lost to. So it cannot be the case Russell is throwing Loma's name into the ether to ride his horse. Yeah, Russell II, it's clearly gonna happen...
According to Steve Kim on his most recent podcast of The Next Round, he said he had it on very good authority from a very reliable source that Mayweather and Davis are not on good terms, and have not been on speaking terms for quite some time. And that 19 year old Olympic Sliver Medalist Shakur Stevenson who is a good friend of Davis is not a big fan of Floyd's either. Apparently Davis isn't speaking to Floyd because he feels Floyd spent more time promoting his new strip club, his possible fight with McGregor and basically just talking about himself and how he's TBE, then actually promoting Davis' first title fight.
Hard to believe that after watching all the love and respect they both showed last weekend. Last I heard, Mayweather was a little disappointed when Davis wouldn't move from Baltimore to Vegas, but I think that was a smart move by Davis.
He is a reporter although you are correct in that Kim and Gabe Montoya both can't stand Floyd. Kim did say he retweeted Shakur Stevenson's tweet to Davis saying something along the lines of "I'm gonna say it,...Floyd is a fake." So that tweet should be out there somewhere.
Don't matter. Save the tweet. Everyone heard on national TV last weekend who Davis thanked after his win and said how thankful he is to have an ATG champion like Mayweather supporting him. Also, who did Davis say he studied to prepare for the bout? When Asked if Davis is the future of boxing Mayweather answered, "Hell Fu**ing Yeah"!or something along those lines. Or was I hearing things?
