To be fair, I think he is referring specifically to whether or not Fury wanted one rather than what splits being demanded on the event of one being in place.

Though, I agree knowing Fury's side's demands is important context

Since there's been nothing official announced yet, I'm still sticking with the idea that everything was done to make people angry enough to pay to see Fury the 'bad guy' get whupped.

Fury vs Usyk to be announced 4/1!

Only a slow, bias, dunce could come up with this as the true representation of what has happened.

"His financial backers wanted it. Therefore it goes in."

And if Fury doesn't want it in then perhaps he doesn't fight Usyk.

"Regarding a 70-30 split for the winner being a non-starter, personally, like many, I think that is quite reasonable"

Usyk got 20% from Bellew, 37.5% against Chisora, 20% in fight 1 against Joshua and 50% in the rematch: he's not going to get 70% from Fury even if he won fight 1, especially considering that the rematch would be more (perhaps considerably more) lucrative than fight 1 if Usyk pulled the upset.

Fury can fight Andy Ruiz at 80-20 at Wembley and make big money, with near-zero risk. In the process Fury would further devalue Joshua. And if team Usyk don't like the terms then Usyk's going to have to fight Warren fighter Dubois, pay step aside, vacate or retire.

A couple of people have theorised that Fury may be effectively retired. He said that Wilder 3 was his last fight a few times, and Whyte after that. If so, he's just interested in easy money bum defences against the likes of Whyte, Chisora and Ruiz, so don't expect the Usyk fight to ever happen.

Fury's goal at the start was to beat Klitschko, everything since then has been an encore. If Fury sees himself as retired post-Wilder 3 and just wants to fight Whyte's, Chisora's and Ruiz's, good luck to him.

The Undisputed fight would have been made already if it had been a straight 50/50 for one fight with no rematch clause imo. Anybody know what percentage Ruiz got for the first Joshua fight and then what he got for the rematch ? There was rumours he got the same for both fights but with an extra million for promo work for the rematch but can’t recall now.I remember the rematch was nowhere near 50/50 with Ruiz being locked into the legendary Joshua Re Matchroom contract .
