Tyson Marquez usually falls short against the elite, but he's still a dangerous fighter. No disrespect to Tyson Marquez, he's a warrior, but looking forward to Gallito Estrada dissecting him. Imo, Estrada is Chocolatito's equal that classic they had was too close to call and a rematch between those 2 is on the top of everybody's list. Battle of the Little Giants 2. Hopefully The Monster recuperates and join in on the fun, the triangle of death (Gonzalez, Estrada, and Inouye)

Didn't the initial opponent drop out, though...?

Yeah, Godfrey is a late replacement - but for Devin Vargas. :!:

A lateral move at worst. Vargas is kind of like Joey Dawejko - saddled with great expectations by knowledgeable US fans because of his successful amateur run but essentially a flop in the pros.

Stopped in four of his last 5. I actually give Joell Godfrey a better chance at lasting the distance with Ruiz Jr. than I would've given Vargas.

It bums me out that Kirilov is being fed to all these up-and-comers to pad their records. He was a classy boxer in his day. Someone close to him needs to advise him there's no shame in having given the comeback a shot only to realize the body is unwilling even if the mind isn't.

Malignaggi beat Fazekas on points, and has apparently called out the European welterweight champion, 45 year old Silvio Branco, for his next match on Italian soil.

    It wasn't a one-off. :patsch

    4 down, 4 to go.

Roughly a 90 minute intermission separating the Euro action from the North American.

Prediction- Wilder v Duhaupass ends up being much more competitive than Estrada v Marquez

Wilder and the Frog are two evenly match club fighters, Estrada is pound for pound level and Marquez and Segura ruined each other.

In fact it has a lot in common with the night Estrada faced Segura. Broner faced Emmanuel Taylor on Showtime in a competitive fight what was supposed to be one sided while Estrada butchered Segura.

I remember that. I was among those hyping up Estrada vs. Segura as the shoe-in as FOTW and harassed people into finding BeIn Sports Español in their listings (or a stream) only to have them all tune in for a kind of depressing spectacle. :verysad

Likewise. (Although not sure it was a shoe-in a FOTW, maybe FOTN because Gonzalez and Yaegashi was on the day before IIRC)

Might stick with Wilder-Duhaupas if they overlap. I give Duhaupas a punchers chance, which is more than I give Marquez.

Even though Marquez is an actual puncher and Duhaupas isn't? :yep

If you can last 12 rounds with Gonzalez and not even get dropped you clearly have an indestructible jaw.

Getting decked v Harold Sconiers, Dustin Nichols and put on queer st against Molina?? You'd probably be jealous of Seth Mitchell's chin.

I'd actually really like to see Dawejko/Ruiz.
