That and it takes a couple of fights to master that style.. Wlad was KOd by Brewster and dropped 3 times vs Peter even after joining Emanuel Steward but after those fight he had that style down to a t and was unstoppable for a while.. I believe AJ have a lot of similarities to Wlad size and skill wise and that style could extend his career at the top by 5 years at least.. Wlad use to be bulky just like AJ

How did AJ rise from Klitschko's shots, but not Ruiz? Could it have been equilibrium shots that doomed him?

Joshua got up every time he was knocked by Ruiz, with some time to spare. Klitschko’s single right hand put him down much harder than any of Ruiz’s combinations. Ruiz just kept the pressure on Joshua, and made it abundantly clear that the secret ingredient to most of his success- his power, wasn’t going to work there.

Just don't think there has been enough time for Joshua to make adjustments in strategy to turn things around. He has to have dealt with the defeat internally. Too early. Yes, he could win. It is heavy weight boxing. Ruiz is one tough ******* though. A fat guy that can bring it. Think it is Ruiz's fight to lose. He cuts off the ring well, parries well. he is busy and sound with his fundamentals. Also, he has the internal fortitude of a fighter. Not the size of the dog in the fight...size of the fight in the dog. We will see soon. If Joshua loses he is going to have a hard time. Wouldn't be surprised if he hung them up.

I didn't word it right. Meant to say Ruiz dropping him seemed to impact him more regardless that Klit dropped him hard as you stated.

AJ recklessly went in for the kill against Ruiz after he knocked him down. He got clipped and didn't seem to recover. Whether that was because of the punch or his inability to cope with Ruiz' combination punching, we will find out soon.

AJ will fight the same way he fought Parker - ultra conservative.

I just rewatched the first fight on dvd, I sat through the very pro Joshua biased pre-fight buildup which was pathetic... as far as the fight, Joshua was jabbing and moving the best he could for 3 rounds after the devastating 3rd round, the commenters thought Joshua had cleared his head and was getting back in the fight of which Hearn said he thought so also in the ring interview afterwards. Soon as Ruiz decided to let his hands go again in the 7th Joshua was on the canvas again. Unless Joshua has learned the Art of the Octopuss from Waldo Klit he's got no chance of keeping from getting nailed by Ruiz in the rematch. Wlad Klit tried to grab Corrie Sanders but his hands were too fast, imo Ruiz has Joshua's number like Sanders had Wlad Klitschko's number which is why Vitali fought Sanders instead of a rematch with Wlad!!

Actually, I dug into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Athletic Commission rulebook and they allow a timeout room. That’s why they had to build a whole new arena for this, to make sure the escape room is nice and comfy for AJ.

Well let's see if they do it then, because having a significant height and reach advantage wasn't remotely utilised in the first fight. They didn't fight smart then did they?

I think you’re all severely underestimating AJ. He got hit bad in the first fight and wasn’t the same afterwards.

I don’t think it’s in his nature to run and fight for a points win.

more conservative? Yes. But he’ll still look to KO Ruiz and I think he will.

I hope he does it too.

He would gas and gas hard espically considering the pressure on him. The nervous energy will tire him out.

If think it will be either a Joshua decision, or Ruiz winning by KO in a few rounds.

I doubt it will be as exciting a fight as last time, but I hope I am wrong and it is just as good.

I can see both winning this,on points if goes 12 rounds I'd go with AJ but if not then Ruiz in under 12 rounds.
I can not make my mind up on this fight.

Lol yeah AJ gonna run from the little fat guy!! Don't think so, maybe he should employ Wilders left arm constantly fully extended or push tactics that helped Wilder beat Ortiz whilst running for 7 rounds!!
