Get rid of Joe Cortez

    This guy has refereed a lot of fights but does a poor job in big fights when theres a lot on the line. If you watch the replay, he was looking on the sidelines for like 45 seconds and said "Box on" , what the hell was he doing? People can blame Ortiz OR Mayweather but it is the referees job to control the fighters and he clearly did not do that. I hereby demand that they get rid of this bozo, hes more concerned with his "I'm fair but I'm firm" shitty trademark than actually refereeing.

    cortez isn't that bad, but universal consensus is that Tony Weeks, Kenny Bayless and Steve Smoger are the best

    IMO prior to this fight, cortez was just an average ref (nothing to really hate him for). Every ref makes mistakes every now and then but then again not every ref referees BIG PPV fights on a consistent basis and ****S UP REPEATEDLY. Its one thing for a ref to **** up on an ESPN2 fight, but when people are paying 70 bucks a pop to see a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FIGHT, they expect a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP LEVEL REF :deal

    Watch the Soto v Lorenzo fight...then Gamboa v Salido...look for the HUGE inconsistency...Then watch Hatton V Mayweather followed by Calzaghe v Hopkins...again inconsistent.

    always hated Cortez I predicted their would be a **** up ..I just didnt know it would be this big...Also enough of the apologies from Ortiz..................

    agreed, he apologized like 4 times, ENOUGH ALREADY. First of all, there should never be any apologies DURING A FIGHT, they aren't there to hold hands and kiss each other (like ortiz was trying to do). If I wanted to see that, I would check out the recent chick flick playing right now.
