At the halfway point, Hatton won only Round 5 clearly. Round 1 was arguable. The other 4 clearly Mayweathers... So at the half way mark, it was more 5-1, or 4-2, Mayweather.

You my friend, know how to score a fight. Although I thought Floyd clearly won round 1

If by "the stretch" you mean anywhere after the 2nd minute of the first round, you may have a point.

Look at the punch stat, that pretty much tells the story. 17% land rate will not win you a fight with anyone of Mayweather's caliber

I don't know. I had it 4 rounds to 2 for Hatton at one point.

Mayweather was landing the more precise shots, sure, but it isn't as if Ricky Hatton didn't land anything clean in the first 6 rounds. He smothered Mayweather pretty decently at times, muting some of his punching, and he landed some pretty good shots. He did a good job controlling the ring, Mayweather certainly was unable to just pot shot and slide off with Ricky like he is able to with lesser opponents, and Hatton did a pretty good job keeping Mayweather on the ropes.

Round 7 and beyond, admittedly, I saw something totally different. After round 6 it was a completely different fight, with Mayweather landing at will when he had space, and throwing good shots on the inside as well. The fight was a lot closer than i had thought it would be going into round 7, but after that, Mayweather closed the show very well.

Punch stats arent everything, this isnt olympic boxing...

I thought he won that round too. :good Couple of real clean nice jabs, and that ole left hook with Hatton comin' in (i.e. the knock down punch) started landing CLEANLY off the bat. But Hatton was pumped, aggressive, and threw lots of punches. So the "arguable" is more kind of out of respect to Ricky, and kind of to not "rub it in" to his fans. With the performance he put up, he's gotta deserve something!

Seriously though, what exactly did hatton do to win more than a few rounds in this fight? besides jumping in and flailing away in the hopes of landing something but instead landing on floyds gloves and in the proccess smothering his own punches, what did he do?

It's impossible to make sense with these morons. Good post though. They won't take credit given to Mayweather. You have to pretend like he won every minute of every round, and smoked Hatton out with the greatest left hook of all time. It wasn't good enough for them that Hatton was winning at the halfway point, Mayweather proved to be a great champion by making the right adjustments, turning the fight around, and getting the win by a very good stoppage.

You guys are hilarious. You bring up punch stats and Compubox the second it helps make a case for you, but then you trash the whole system in between fights. Why even have judges to score things like ring generalship and the effect of punches?

PS: My scoring was almost exactly on par with Ledermans.

It was Hatton for the 1st and 2nd, PBF 3rd, then it was give or take till the 8th, 8th 9th 10th were Floyd's.
