We've all heard the expression; you two should get boxing gloves. My question is has this happened with historical figures in a non-charity event? Have any politicians or prominent business men had a dispute settled in the ring that generated some media interest?
John McEnroe and Mats Wilander did 3 rounds for charity. Both were rather average. Unknown in American but our mad Aussie Rules player Whacko Jacko way back in the day flogged an opposition player on national TV. Years later Mal Meninga flattened him in a big night of exhibition bouts mainly featuring Rugby League stars. I remember Geyer and Meninga were awesome, whilst Trevor Gillmeister who had supposedly boxed a lot paled in comparison. Not quite what ya after but the footy bouts were a real gala event full of excitement.
