Im 6 feet tall, 220 pound (i know i'm over weight). I need to get back in shape. my question is what's my ideal weight? I really want to get back to lower 160s, is that even possible?
    Thanks in advance.

It's possible but it will take a lot of hard work and a strict diet.

Do you lift weights? If no, you might want to start there being as how your body will adjust after time and you'd be surprised how much better you look/feel and how much weight you would lose in the beginning. If you're not looking to lift weights, High intensity interval training is proven as the best Fat loss exercise. HIIT with the Tabata protocol is probably the most proven method of this type of training.

I use an alternative version of the Tabata protocol, which is 30 seconds on, and 20 seconds off, but its your choice.

I used to be 210-215 and now im around 192 looking to get to 179. It's only taken me around 2 months to drop that, so it's definitely possible.

Edit: BTW I'm also 6 foot, and I was 215

its possible for sure "But please do it the safe and healthy way"

i was about that around 1.5 years ago my highest weight was 227 im 5ft 11 ,now im 160lbs give or take even though this is my natural weight. But i did not do it the healthy way,i pretty much did a liquid diet or did not eat more then one meal a day some times just a snack,it developed in to a mental thing and before you knew it i ended up with alot of health warnings like lack of b12 and low blood pressure, physically drained etcim just getting back in to a good diet.

I could suggest though lost of cardio and running ,plyometrics, calisthenics, proper diet, and most importantly "Boxing"

Yea it was pretty bad ,poor diet, smoking, drinking etc,i just didn't find time to eat or think about food i had no appetite.Like i mentioned earlier i was always naturally skinny for my height ,so walking around at over 200 for 2 years was ruff but it was on behalf of a whole nother story ,needless to say im back on a proper diet and looking to gradually make it even more beneficial and am starting to feel real good physically.

Just start working out and see how it goes. Do a lot of road work along with body weight exercises. After a few weeks you'll have a better idea of where you're at.

Also watch what you eat. I've found that the best diets revolve around natural foods. Fruits, Vegetables, Raw meat/fish, Eggs, Nuts.

In a similar position. Used to box, weighing 200 pounds at 6 foot - was a stocky type guy. Since I stopped, I lost control of my weight and also went up to 220 or so. Its pretty tough to make it come off!

You can't beat running for dropping weight. Start Jogging at a sensible pace and graduly increase the distance and speed.

Trust me it will be tough at the beggining but the wait will star falling off you.

Whilst everyone says swimming is the best excersise (as it works every muscle), to really drop weight running is the one!!!
