Tomorrow I'm heading to the gym again for the first time since september. . going to go extremely hard in order to get back into shape and have fights this summer. Daily News Golden Gloves '10
You might want to hang back on the intensity initially. If you haven't trained since sept, jumping back in as hard as possible is the worst thing that you can do. Ease back into it over the course of a few weeks. If I were you, I would focus on high volume work intially - bodyweight exercise is good when you are restarting training after a long lay off.
Yea true I'm just pretty amp'd up I'll probably just follow my old routine then increase intensity as I progress adding sparring and road work.
**** >.< Finished an hour and a half work-out and was exhausted lol. 3 rounds jump rope to warm up, 3 rounds circling the ring with a 20lb medicine ball held to my chest, 3 rounds pad work, 3 rounds speed bag, and then some push ups and ab work. Going back today Might spar :good
10 rounds jump rope, 3 rounds side bag, 2 rounds in front of bag doing 1-2 from bell to bell, 3 round heavy bag, 3 round speed ball, and then the cool down along with push ups and such. Theres some fights the 19th and my trainer said if i look good in sparring and make the weight by next week i can fight.
Lol well the fact that i've already had two amateur fights helps =p My trainer has all his fighters spar like once or twice a week against the other trainers fighters. Trainers even come from other gyms for us to spar against.
That's what we usually do, get people from other gyms to spar us. Then it turns into a boxing match instead of sparring xD
Haha yeah, the thing is we're not the ones are start swinging hard... it's the other guys xD. I wish we could spar more though -.- I don't seem like I'm ready to fight et
